Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone who has had surgery in Thailand could advise me on what to wear afterwards. I'm guessing a good quality, cotton, very supportive bra for the breast work. I'm not sure about undies though. I was just going to wear a sarong and let it all hang out, my Mum always said wounds need air to breath to heal well. The only other suggestion I've had is cotton granny knickers (passion killers).
Any general advise on what to do/not to do would be gratefully received.

Love Heather.

Luv & Hugs for all of you. :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch:

I've no experience, but I'd like to add to that question. How many pairs are needed - I've read that some people at least can go though a lot of them every day.

I also understand most people can't buy them there - Thai women are apparently tiny.

I suggest when in recovery waist down naked is best.

Out you will be leaking for months, i had a size or two larger then normal, normal panties.

Extra room not to rub things to much.

White cotton was suggested by my surgeon.

One thing to consider is that there will be a lot of leakage of fluid, lube, etc for the first month or two... so you wear pads, which need something to attach to. Ie naked is okay in the recovery room but once you're up and about, you'll want something tight enough that a thick pad can be easily attached and held in the right place. One girl actually liked tighter undies because everything felt like it rubbed less since it was more snug. But I recall the stitches sticking out like splinters (for 3 or 4 weeks!) felt horrible snagging on anything.... ugggh!
Blessings,

Eternally Caffeinated

Hi Heather.

I'm currently in Bangkok recovering from my SRS with Chettawut. I went with the advice of others and am wearing cheap cotton panties, couple sizes larger than normal. Though I went with black rather than white. I found some packs of 3 for $1 so went all out and spent $5, so I have 15 pairs here with me. I go through 3 pairs a day, changing to a fresh pair with a new pad after every dilation. Once you're out of bed you really need to be wearing a pad, but if I'm laying in bed then I certainly take the opportunity to air it all out.

Hi Eternally,

Thanks Flower, I hope your feeling well & positive. I'm seriously happy for you.

A few people have experienced complications from the obvious problems of toilet hygiene. Did Dr Chettawut give you any advise on infection control? I was thinking of bringing anti-bacterial toilet wipes.

Is there anything your doing or wish you'd done to make life easier?

I wish I was there to hold your hand and give you a cuddle but I cant, so I'll think of you as I hug my pillow. Your strength gives me strength. Thank You.

Love Heather.

Luv & Hugs for you and everyone else. :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch: :icon_bunch:

Eternally Caffeinated

Hi Heather

I was instructed a couple times to pat carefully from front to back, but other than that no further instructions were given. I bought some anti-bacterial hand wash from the supermarket next door and ensure I thoroughly wash before and after every time I touch myself.

I arrived a few days ahead of when I needed to be here so I could settle in and do a few trips to the grocery store to stock up on anything I might need. I grabbed snacks, drinks and extra bottled water, along with a nice supply of pads and toiletries. It means I can now relax and not stress about whether I need anything.

Shouldn't the hospital provide you with that? When I did SRS, the hospital gave me "net panties" after a few days. They also gave me bandages that I could put a few layers inside the net panties, so the skin could breathe and I could sleep with it.

But packing, I had my regular clothes, but skipped tight pants and used baggy pants instead for my way home.

I am a wrek post of with Dr. P in bangkok. His staff gave me a supply of old fashioned pads that attach to a band i wear around my waist. Very comfy pad wise over all. I like being naked while in hotel. Honestly have not left my room. I am unable to sit still. I am at the swissotel. Large rooms. Not a budget hotel. I found shopping over here to be attrocious. Spent two weeks looking to buy shoes. I am size 12 us. Never found any other than sandals. I recommend bring several packs of really cheap semi loose fitting. If you get the pads i am using really just personal preferance beyond that.

I just got released from Chetts clinic this morning, Last night the exterior bandages where removed and I was given a pad to put inside my knickers I brought from home. The advice I was given was buy cheap cotton knickers a few sizes too big and then just throw them away. I bought 25 pairs. The advice is to let the air get at the site when in bed but to wear knickers when out of bed

Hope that helps

Hugs

Just take a few packs of really cheap big knickers with you and throw them away as you use them. They are going to get quite soiled and you wont want to be doing any laundry
