After putting up for months my GP's condescending attitude, I finally found a Dr. who is a keeper.  The GP I had kept lowing my T, and I was watching my body go backwards in time. I found out today from my new doc that my T was a good bit lower than the minimal for a guy my age. Apparently the old GP had been trying to get it as low as he could.

My new doc is switching me back to injectable once a week T with a different carrier and has no problem letting me stay at the top of the normal range. To say that the physical changes that were occurring with the lowering T were distressing is an understatement. The new doc is also helping me finish getting my birth cert. Changed from F to M and is not requiring blood tests nearly as often after we get my T in the correct range.
The relief at finding someone with no bias was incredible.

Sam that is wonderful news. I always great when you finally get a doctor who understands and is helpful to us in our transitions. Good luck

Good for you!!!!!!  Taking personal responsibility is huge AND scary, because it leaves you temporarily out on a limb until the right one is found.  Congratulations on using your own power to get your needs met.   :eusa_clap:   Dani

Sam, that's fantastic. It must feel great to have found someone who treats you with respect, and also to have that reality check that says "No, you're really not being unreasonable. The old doc really did suck." (Not to mention getting your T level sorted out, and the physical and emotional relief that comes from that!)

Well done, hanging in there and finding the right person.

Thanks all,
it was a big relief. I didn't realize how much of one until after it was over. The guy is fairly young, which is good because I don't have to worry about him retiring anytime soon.

That's so good Sam, having a good doctor who is on-board with you during your transition is just so important.
