I bring you to this video on YouTube

Now I am in no way saying we must stop using the word altogether, but we must stop throwing it around when something doesn't go our way.
In the video, the vlogger is talking about wearing false lashes and posting tem to her instagram account, tagging the company and them retagging her.
First, let me say I HATE the look of false lashes, I think they look trashy on trans persom, drag queens and cis-women, and she looks trashy in the video and would a million times better without them.
She tagged the company and on their account they said they will retag the post, in this case they didn't and I'm guessing in many cases they don't as well.
So she emailed them, they told her that she had to do something else and they might retag her, they didn't after she added the extra hashtag. So now shes posted a video defaming and slendering the company, I were them I would be suing.

Now its most likely the case that those running their social media didn't like how they looked on her or forgot to tag her all together, when she complained they said "stuff her".

But it brings me to my point, we must stop just throwing it around because we don't get our way.
I've seen it here with racism, we have a pro athletic here who is a proud black man, yet the way he throws & levels the racism word at anyone who doesn't like him, many for reasons other than his skin colour is just taking the meaning of the word and tearing it up.

I understand that we have it hard at times & transphobia is a real thing and it can and does kill some of us, but we must be careful when using the word, to level it at someone who simply doesn't like you for who you are and not what you are.
If we are careful with the word, it will make it powerful and give us a head start when we do face transphobia!
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

I started writing a reply to this post days ago but I was interrupted and lost the comment and then forgot about it, so here is the short version.

I totally agree with you. So many people belonging to oppressed minorities can get into this mindset that anything wrong happening to them must be because they are the part of one or more of these minorities.

I saw this happening with racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, you name it...

As I was being bullied a lot for various reasons I can understand those feelings and thoughts and a lot of times there is some merit to them but sometimes people just have to have a long hard look at themselves before shouting about discrimination.

South park, made some effot to get this point across.

It was chef i think throwing racisme around. and in the end he realised it was him that couldnt see past a skin colour, because in the mind of those he was calling racist, skin colour didnt even cross there minds, to them it literally held no bearing.

And, Yes, I point out a few times, that yes we are trans, but we are more then that. And if we atribute every negative exsperience to it, and every posative exsperience to it going unnoticed or passing. The it means to ourself tht is all we are.

Because, If your rude to someone, they might not want to talk to you. But you might think its because you was a rude transperson.

So yes, I agree with your statement regarding, dont label every peice of exsperienced negativity as, a phobia atributed to an aspect of yourself you cant see past :)

Now to watch the vedio (I missed it)

can't really control usage of a word, people are going to throw words around regardless especially on the internet.

"It's easier to fix other people then it is to fix yourself" carries over into many areas of life
