Well I thought I would give an update.. A while ago I posted about needing to find a different anti-androgen on another transgender forum. Spiro was having an adverse reaction with my anti-depressant. Some recommend dropping the progesterone and thereby dropping the anti-depressant. But I had already stopped the progesterone for a while and the depression had not gone away which was why I thought out help for the depression.

After doing alot of research I finally settled on cyproterone acetate for an anti-androgen and let me tell you I will never ever ever go back to Spiro.. Nasty stuff that it is... I am so happy now with cyproterone acetate. Not only can I take it with Lexapro (anti-depressant) and doing the superb job as an Anti-Androgen but it has had a number of secondary effects that I am just going crazy over.. First Spiro caused alot of Leg cramps in my legs.. They are now gone. Second, Spiro caused me to pee ALOT, that is now gone.

But I am also very happy with two other effects of cyproterone acetate. The first being that within 3 days it completely and totally cleared up my seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. I was putting on extremely expensive foam and aerosol medicines to my scalp daily to keep down the seborrheic dermatitis but it was always inflamed and painful. It caused massive build up of gunk and it weakened the hair to break as well as make the hair feel like straw. It also caused hair to fall out... It has now been one week on the cyproterone acetate and there is NO inflammation and the whiteness of my scalp as returned. No gunk build up! Plus my hair feels soft now and not breaking (I might even be able to get my hair past my shoulders now).

The Second being that I have already noticed a decrease of body hair which for me is exciting since I am naturally very hairy and Spiro only decreased it alittle. I am hoping that from what I see and it will continue to decrease my body hair.

I am in a GREAT mood these days being on cyproterone acetate and Lexapro. There is not a ounce of depression at the moment and I feel so claim and relaxed. In addition within the week that I have been on cyproterone acetate I have noticed my breasts expanding more....

I can't be anymore happier at the moment (except getting SRS, haha) and I cannot be anymore happier with cyproterone acetate...
