So I set a date for me to come out, that being may 1st. Which is My six month point or close to it since I started to transition. 4 1/2 months hormones then. My sister says I am moving fast as I just told my family like a month-2 months ago and to give them time to get use to it. What are your thoughts and experiences. You think I am moving to fast? When did u come out in your timeline?

For clarification it is in reference to me coming out to my league and on Facebook. I told her I am tired of having to hide myself in a way. Because of it, I am on a tilt thinking about it.

I came out before I even started hormones. About a month or so after reaching self acceptance. I needed to be able to dress how I wanted and to start feeling better. It was what I could do. I didn't want to feel like I was living two lives. I just wanted to be honest and I was tired of secrets. It is going great in my personal life and at work. Now instead of worrying what people might think I can ponder what makes me feel good.

But we all work at our own speeds. When you feel ready is the time to come out.

I came out in stages. Friends last August, family in September, online in October. I started seeing a therapist in October, started HRT after Thanksgiving, and am having surgery at the end of this month.

Don't let other people's comfort dictate the speed of your transition.
