So it feels like a bee sting or a rubber band on your face right?

To me, yes.  It depends on how dark and how dense your whiskers are.
My eyes water as soon as it starts around my mouth.
But, it is bearable pain, to be sure.  You'll be fine.

For me it felt like needles or sand being shot at my face repeatedly. It wasn't pleasant but it was over with relatively quickly.

It's not that bad. For the first couple of sessions I used a topical anisthetic, Emla Cream. But after that I never bothered.

It's not as bad as you think... just like a bunch of pencils jabbing you repeatedly.

After three sessions you will notice the biggest differences, at least I did.

After 6th sessions, my hairs were pretty much gone.  I still got to shave every other day because of the pesky white hairs them lasers can't zap.  When I go get my nails done I usually get my upper lip region waxed.  I am going for my 7th session Tuesday, I am not sure if its really needed but I am keeping at it for now.

Rubber bands is exactly what mine felt like.  I found that it is best to let the technician or nurse go as fast as they can at a steady pace.  I had a nurse that thought she was doing me a favor by going slow, and announcing every zap.  She wasn't. 😮

I'm all for laser, it's a good service...

But I will say, if it was a play, the script would be like:

Scene: Customer laying on exam table, Tech standing next to nefarious-looking machine

Tech: adjusts device's knobs and etc

Tech: "Ready?"

Victi Customer: "Yup, been waiting for this!! So excite..."

ZAP!

Customer: "OUCH!"

ZAP!

Customer: "OUCH!"

ZAP!

Customer: "OUCH!"

(15 mins pass)

ZAP!

Customer: "OUCH!"

Tech: "Ok, we're done. You don't scream as loud as the others, you must have a high pain tolerance. Here's some sunburn cream, do not go out in the sunshine for the next 48 hours."

It's not that bad and much of Beth Andrea's dialog sounds much like my experience for time. It you have a low pain tolerance Ibuprofen might be a good idea. The stuff they use to numb helps, but not really. You will be fine though and it does get easier on the most part. Good luck and hugs

I'm going to my last appointment of nine for my front neck, chest, and abdomen next week so listen when I say, Get Numbing Cream! It's a God send and makes it all much more tolerable. It also goes by much quicker. It's worth the few extra bucks by comparison to the cost of the laser hair removal procedure. Just some friendly advice...

They do give you numbing cream before the procedure, unless you think I need another one? I was also think though that having some after sun aloe vera would be good when its done ?

For me, I take it about an hour before hand and when I get there either I or they clean it off. They gave me directions on how to order cream online via a compounding pharmacy. They also do aloe afterwards. Ask them about the cream and see what they say.

Congratulations! Beauty is definitely pain in this case, but like others have said it is bearable. Your beard will have a patchy appearance for many, many months as the laser only kills hair in the active growth part of the hair growth cycle.

I have a very thick(the majority of my hair follicles have two hair in each), dark beard and the worst areas as far as pain are the thin strip right along the jaw line (2nd worst), the chin is the worst for me, and the upper lip is third worst, everything else is a piece of cake. I have had 5 sessions so far with good results, but I will need electrolysis for a few (maybe 3-5%) the white/grey hair I already have.
