Stuck Beneath the Mire

First off, I just want to say thanks to those who attempted to lend me aid in my first post. Second, I'm sorry if I don't reply much or post even less. I've always been not great at forums. I'm a lurker/reader more than a replier.

Okie dokie then! So soon after I made my first post, I really came through the fire. I have my identity! My battle with denial ended! I feel it to be completely, perfectly correct that I am indeed female. I have come out to my family of closest friends. They support and love me though they will take time to get used to calling me Alana, she and her. I cannot wait until the end of July! I have rebirth before me, but I must wait until my exodus from the South comes to fruition. I will always love my family no matter how they choose to accept this once I tell them, but I can't tell them until I'm safely far, far away.

It is amazing how quickly the mind falls into place with everything once you feel the joy of acceptance. 50 days ago, I was so scared of even the concept of GRS, but now... I really came to understand how much I am disgusted by and hate my current anatomy. I want my vulva...

I have been doing lots of reading and researching, or at least I'm really trying to. When all else fails, I thought I would come here and ask for firsthand knowledge. I know everyone is unique and every journey different, but I need help in figuring this out for my own timetable. I am not on a well-set budget. Moving to Cali... it will not be easy to survive and pay all I know I'm going to have to for my "gender needs." I hope to have at least between 8-10k. I know... It is not a lot, but I have to escape and live my life! My bestie/future roomie has basically locked me down a job at her workplace, so I will have a "decent" source of income. I'll look for a second job if I must as well.

Let's just say... per month, how much will I be spending on therapist cost, physician costs, and HRT?

My face is not covered in thick facial hair but mustache area can get some, chin to under my apple can get pretty crazy. My back is pretty darn hairless. My legs and arms are decently hairy. My chest down to below naval hair is sparse and focused but not everywhere. My armpits are pretty hairy. I have lots of pubic but haven't decided what to do about it. How much could I be looking at spending on electro when all is said and done? Can electro be done around delicate areas namely the trench of the derriere? I don't like how hairy it is back there...

Voice... I'm better when I have presence and direct instruction with immediate feedback, so I will want to find someone who is good at helping trans gals unlock their voice. How much can I expect to pay for someone's time?

I don't need to think about surgery costs right now because for me, that is still down the road for a good while. Except for trachea shave but even then, I don't know when will be the right time for me to get that.

Not sure if I forgot in other inquiries or not... Oh well!

Thanks in advance for any and all aid.

Don't be too quick to jump on body hair removal, I found that a couple of wax jobs in the first 6 months or so of hormones essentially solved that problem..

I was left with fairly female normal vellus hair in most places, with pubic hair, leg hair and armpits also following a normal female pattern. No chest hair to speak of, nothing on my back (Which, admittedly I never had to start with.) and no 'snail trail' on my abdomen. A little patience saved me a fortune in hair removal. OK, I did have a nipple hair or 3, but my female friends all commented that was fairly normal.

Okie dokie, I'll probably give it a little time then because overall, I'm not really that hairy, so perhaps that would work out for me. Thanks^^

With everything I've been reading, you should work on removing your facial hair above all else first.  Start with lasering it for several sessions, then let the HRT do what it can and use electrolysis to target the stragglers.  Apparently the majority of people lose very little, if any, of their facial hair from HRT alone, though it can lighten/thin it slightly.  Unlike other body hair it is highly persistent.

Sorry I don't have any cost numbers for you as I'm still new to this myself.

As for the trachea shave, my advice would be to grow out your hair first (assuming it's short right now).  From some of the pics I've seen, you'd be surprised what good hair and makeup can do to slim your neck.

If you want it, it is yours.

Just be aware that all things worth having, involve sacrifices.
