After just having jaw and chin surgery; IMHO, unless your surgeon is not very aggressive, pain medicine is an absolute necessity.
I had extremely aggressive jaw/chin surgery (not only large reduction, but many osteotomies) and I am 7 days post-op with Dr. DiMaggio. I stopped using painkillers on the second day, although I primarily needed them for my chin. I could have gone without, but the medicine helped dull the sharp sensation associated with any movement (opening my mouth any wider than a teaspoon could fit, basically).

I don't think painkillers are always necessary regardless of aggression, although I think I may be in the minor camp on this one. I've seen many other people complain of jaw/chin pain with FFS.
Why do I always write such incredibly long posts?

How did the scar?I not had much luck with that. And a slight bone asymmetry, which leaves a raised eyebrow than the other. In the photos disguises well, but personally people notice it in me.

Many people have asymmetry with their eyebrows.

Having them identical can look unnatural.

Each side of the face is different to the other.

But bone asymmetry is bad. To measure right to avoid these differences. After I show my scar to hear from you. Thanks

I've been looking into Dr dimaggio. He has given me an evaluation and next comes a Skype consultation. He has been given good reviews by my primary doc.

What sort of accommodation costs should I expect in argentina?

You can find some really reasonable accommodations depending on what you are looking for.  I'm renting a decent apartment in Bs. As. through Airbnb for 18 nights and it'll cost me around $500.

Perhaps MdM office has apt recommendations.

I was in BA for a month for Dr Rossi FFS.  They provided a list of several apt choices.  The 1 bdrm I chose cost USD$600.  Not sure what it would be now, Argentine Peso has strengthen vs USD since the Argentine Presidential elections.

jhulyglow,

Bone swelling can be incredibly residual. I don't know how long ago your surgery was, how old you are, or what condition your skin is in, but they can all be factors in the healing process. Even little things, like which side of your body you sleep on and how oily your skin is, can have a lasting impact on swelling.

If it hasn't been a year yet, or even more depending on your age, I wouldn't be convinced that something is wrong. Also, bone asymmetry is completely normal. There is a certain degree of asymmetry expected in humans, and it is only an aesthetic cause for concern when you are past that point.

To insert an image, you have to upload it to somewhere on the internet and then use the image button (under "B"). You can also give the link to where you uploaded the picture.

iKate,

My apartment cost me ~900 USD (before deposit) and I rented it for 34 nights. It's a studio, sadly, and not my first choice, but it suits me well enough. It has some issues, like the a/c leaking (which I use a bucket for and ignore), the shower head doesn't sit well, and it is quite noisy until 1AM at times because it is in the party district (Palermo). I otherwise don't really have any complaints.

The location is great (LOTS of shops nearby) and it has a balcony with a pleasant view. If I had only stayed for 3 weeks, I suspect the price would have been closer to 600-700. My first choice was ~1,100 USD for 34 nights and was much nicer (not a studio, modern TV, more amenities, probably in better condition), but someone snatched it up an hour before I tried.

If you spend in the range of ~1,000 for 30 nights (or equivalent for more/less days), I think you should be comfortable. I hope this helps!

My sensitivity to the head did not return fully after surgery. It was the same with you? I thought that by having more than a year would already be normal.

Hello jhulyglow ,

I'm afraid I'm not on Facebook so I can't see your picture.
Anyway, I',m 7 months postop now and a great deal of my sensitivy on top of the head has returned. It's still to early to make a final evaluation(I'll wait at least one year). If it doesnt return fully I will still feel that it was worth it in order to gain what I've achieved, but that may not be the way you see it.
It is quite normal, as I understand, that some of the sensitivity is lost because of the surgery connected with the incision at the top of the forehead. Have you discussed it with your surgeon? Hope you recover more of your sensitivity

All the best,

Jannicke

Then it's settled. Leaving to see Dr Di Maggio and his team at the end of June this year to carry out what I consider the remaining part of the surgery in my face and some more.
I'm carrying out face- and necklift and liposuction of my tummy tuck.
Surgery date is 30th of June-2016.
Looking forward to finalize the surgery in my face and I'm very happy to be able to do that with Dr Di Maggio and his team.
I'll be back with some before and afters later on..
