Hi, I'm Julian. I have been lurking here for a while, and signed up the other day. I just came out (FTM) yesterday. I've had nothing but support, thankfully. I'm on an emotional rollercoaster right now, but glad that people have been so supportive. I'm not a huge talker until I get comfortable, but I'm glad I'm here. I feel strange right now, I should be so happy since everyone has been congratulating me, but I feel drained. Maybe also grief too--letting go of the "Julia mask." Don't know if that makes sense. Anyway, I'm glade this site exists. Thanks.

Welcome, J

And congrats on coming out! I'm glad it went so well for you!

I'd say it's normal to feel odd after coming out, it's a pretty big step, but one we all gotta go through. :)

Hey Julian, welcome! I'm a pre-everything trans guy from Europe and started coming out to folks last year. It can be emotionally draining, even if you get supportive responses. Working up the courage and everything is stressful!

Looking forward to seeing you around :)

Welcome! It's great to hear that people have been so supportive of you! :)

I don't think it's surprising that you'd feel drained after coming out even if people have been supportive. Coming out is a stressful thing, even when others respond positively. I'm not publicly out yet, but I can relate to an extent. The thought of coming out actually seems exciting at times when I think about people acknowledging that I'm neither female nor male (I'm agender), but then it feels really stressful and scary when I remember that some people will probably tell me that I have to be a girl because I'm female-bodied or that people can't be anything other than male or female, and that people might also ask complex, weird, and personal questions that I may not be able to answer.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear how well people responded to you coming out!

I am so grateful for all the warm welcomes here! Not surprised (as I said, I've been lurking), but it does feel a bit like coming home to be welcomed by so many who "get it." Thank you all, and I look forward to getting to know this community and making some great friendships. Again, thank you so much! I am so glad to be here.
