Dimples

Hi! It's very nice to meet all of you! I'm Dimples, and I'm 26 years old! I'm very much into writing, and hope I can get something published relatively soon.

I decided to finally join, since I don't really have a support group in my part of the Midwest. It's been very hard to do everything on my own: finding trans friendly therapists, getting approved for hormones, and SRS, learning make up and hair and clothing.

I've been on hormones now for 2 years, and I'm starting to get the hang of face painting, though I have a long way to go. I've also been approved for SRS! My biggest challenge is finding insurance that covers both FFS and SRS. Anyway, it's been a pretty difficult 2 years figuring all this stuff out on my own (not to mention dealing with the locals) and it would be nice to make friends who know what I'm going through, and can relate.

I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Hi Dimples.

You didn't say what kind of writing. Is if journalism type stuff or novels? If it is journalism, maybe check out our news staff and think about joining them.

Oh that would be lovely! Thanks for pointing me in that direction! Sorry I was so vague, I do all kinds of writing be it fiction or non-fiction. I try to jump on every opportunity to write, and am currently writing a kids book and some young adult fiction. I'll definitely check it out, thanks!

NO problem!  I wrote a childrens' book on the ocean. I got to read it at a first grade class. It felt very embarrassing and also very cool! Good luck in your future.
