This is a pre-emptive strike on their part, because they know that intersexuality holds the prospects of knocking down all of their neat little walls around their neat little boxes.
If they can discredit intersexuality as a pathology instead of as a normal divergent genetic trait, than they can work on fixing all of those kids that are born interesexed, show that it is a genetic abnormality that can be corrected, and separate it from homosexuality.
Because if homosexuality can be proven to be a choice rather than a genetic trait, than they can reclassify it as a psychological abnormality. Same is true for transsexuality, if they can prove that all transsexuals are really homosexuals.

If intersexuals can be proven to be "suffering" from a real genetic abnormality that can be corrected, and everyone else can be proven to have a psychological dysfunction that can also be cured, than they can strengthen the walls around their neat little world.
