I love dogs too. I have a cat because a dog doesn't work with my work schedule, but I walk my mum's dog every weekend and take him when she's away.

I love cats.  Always been a huge cat fan.  And yes it is true, you don't own a cat, the cat supervises you.  I read somewhere that dogs come when called, cats take a message and get back to you.  :)

Also very inspiring moment of enlightenment, Steph.  I've had a few of those moments as well.  Funny, we always think of enlightenment as this great big "holy cow!" moment, but it never is.  On an excitement scale from 1 to 10, enlightenment usually ranks around 4, but it has that nice comfortable feeling that just can't be bought.

Steph,
That was such a beautifully worded post. I felt almost there and could picture clearly what you were experiencing. I'm one that loves those surrouning beauty moment that stay in my memory for years to come. Ther seem to be more of them in the country life to experience and I love it and would'nt change or move for all the world.

It's amazing a cat's charactor and Personality and howmany of the have the keen way of knowing what they want, letting you know what they want, insisting what they want, and getting what they want. We could learn a lot about people managment and persistance.

We have many cats. They are needed for we live surrounded by wheat fields, and mice would carry away the house and home with ot them. Taffy and Freckles have been here the longest. (Sister andBrother.) We had taffy nuedered. Freckels is a Great Grandmother , and I suppose that makes Taffy a Great uncle. He get to come in the house and enjoy owning Leah's lap as she watches TV. These cats have an extra toes and have unusually large paws. Look to be wear boxig gloves in fact I named some after boxers becaues they box with each other when kittens. The others don't act as if we are there for anything except be the food and water boys. Taffy likes being involved in what ever we are up to. He watches and even pats at and plays with what ever we lay down when working on a project.

Yep Cats are fun. But dogs are too we enjoy them both and have had both at that same time. and the got on well enough. Tolerating the other some of the time ignoring the other the rest and maybe on rare occassion, when the wind blew just right might even like the other.
