Temporary endo...?

I've been on T for right around 8 months at this point, and I've run into an issue. Through mostly my own negligence, I've ended up with only one dose left on my current scrip. This wouldn't be an issue, but due to summer plans and timing, I won't be able to see the doctor who usually give me my T. Currently I'm in RI and my doctor is in CT, but I'm leaving for VA at the end of the week for the next three months. I really desperately don't want to be without my T as last time that happened it was...bad. I was basically useless and didn't leave my room unless absolutely necessary.
What would y'all say my odds are of finding a doctor who would be willing to write me scrips for the summer down in the DC/VA area? I don't have a consistent therapist or letters, as my endo goes by "informed consent" rather than requiring vouchers/testimonies, but since I've been on T for 3/4ths of a year and living "full time" since last March, that should help...right?

I'm in DC. Look up Whitman-Walker Health. It is where I go, they operate on informed consent. I would fill out your new patient paperwork and fax it to them ASAP, then call the next day and schedule an appointment closer to your move date. They are scheduling 3-6 weeks out, so you should do this that far in advance of your move if you can.

They are really great and easy to work with. If you tell them that you are currently on T and can tell them more about your medical history and dosage, I expect they would write you a new prescription on the spot.

EDIT: Just saw your move date is this week. They have a Transgender Advocate - give him a call or send him an email with your phone number and explain the situation. He might be able to help. It would be good if could have your doctor forward you any medical details that might help them.

If you call your doctor, they may give you a script to last until you get back, but usually not for more than one refill.

LordKAT: I did try that, but within my state of residency, testosterone is pretty heavily regulated and a scrip can only be obtained in person after the first three months.

She may not have any availability ASAP, but my doctor there is Tina Celenza. She is excellent, and I'd highly recommend asking about her schedule.
