Have anyone else read this Manga or watched the anime? For me growing up with my dysphoria, I could not get enough. I use to stand in the shower wishing that all it would take to fix me would be the cold water. Anyone else have something like that?

Hell yes ! I read a lot of "gender bender" mangas, it's a whole category of mangas ;-)

If you're looking for fun ones, you might want to check "boku girl" (it's stupid but it's quite fun).

I'll make a topic with a ton of them, one of these days. I'm quite knowledgeable on this :D
Tell me what your definition of "man" and "woman" is, I'll tell you which I am. Not the other way around.

I used to love Ranma 1/2 when I was younger lol  Thought that was an ideal solution.  I'll just throw cold water on myself when I have to deal with family and people who know me, then toss on some hot water and live as male and no one will ever know!

I watched some of the anime and I really enjoyed it but wasnt able to finish it. It would be pretty nice to be able to turn into a girl just by touching cold water. The only time I would touch warm water after that is just to take a shower.

Heck yes!

My wife and I met each other in an anime chat room. My handle was Ranma Saotome. When we got married, I wore a black Chinese shirt as a nod to Ranma. It's my favorite Manga.
"Maybe I really joined with them to keep the loneliness at bay.
Yet in the end, you couldn't make it go away. Others could rely on you, but you couldn't rely on them."

"She's a little scared to get close to anyone because everyone who said, "I'll always be here for you," left."

I love ranma 1/2 years ago I used to use it as a test field to see how people would react to a gender changing character, if they though it was too weird it was a good sign my own gender issues where not going to go well either.

Plus the truly incredible martial arts styles... martial arts tea ceremony, martial arts rhythmic gymnastics, and of course The good old days school of martial arts which uses old toys like yo yo's, jax. and jump ropes as deadly weapons.

over time I came to the conclusion that akane is a you lesbian deeply in denial about her own sexuality, male form ranma all she seems to do is yell at him and push him away, female ranma though see often seems close too and far more friendly, sure perhaps its just a sign of women sticking together and being supportive of each other but I like to think otherwise.

What is a Lie when it's at home? Anyone?
Is it the depressed little voice inside? Whispering in my ear? Telling me to give up?
Well I'm not giving up. Not for that part of me that hates myself. That part wants me to wither and die. not for you. Never for you.  --Loki: Agent of Asgard

StrykerXIII

Used to read it constantly...til my father came into my room one day to ask me what I was cracking up at. Apparently, after looking through a few pages, it "wasn't suitable for an 11-year-old to be reading", and so it went in the trash.

I haven't bought a manga since. I've always thought of him burning the books right in front of me.
To strive to reach the apex of evolution is folly, for to achieve the pinnacle is to birth a god.

When the Stryker fires, all turn to dust in its wake.

I grew up on it as during my childhood they were translating it to the local language and I wanted to support them so I patiently waited XD I think they closed down, so I never really finished reading it. But now me and my partner started watching the anime and it helps, because Ranma's issues because technically he's... half-trans man? xD So I like that I can highly identify with him ^^
