My Forum Picture

Normally in message boards (AOL or school), I just hide my forum profile pic behind an avatar of a powerful woman I admire. But this time I had a picture of myself were I felt beautiful and well right.

In the pic, it might not come off well, but I am wearing a cherry lip shimmer. It was given to me (along with nail polish, mascara, and eye shadow by my best friend). We're doing this photo challenge thing on Instagram. One of the challenges was lipstick. Growing up, I've always wanted to wear makeup and lipstick and be beautiful and feel pretty. But I am fairly male looking. However during this challenge, I put on the lip shimmer and I felt amazing!!! It just felt right!

So I am sharing this very personal story and picture with you all because I want to share my real self with people who understand and who are not going to treat me like a freak for what I am trying to do.

P.S. I was trying to make a cute kissy face but my hands were shaking super bad from nerves.

Thanks! I know it is a kind of awful picture. Part of me wants to take it down and hide again. But the stronger part of me, says no! This is a journey. There is going to be a lot of bad pictures. But no bad feelings on them (for now).

I used a pic of Mary Marvel for a few months before using my own pic. I found using my own pic gave me a better sense of who I was hoping to become. Sometimes I think of going back to Mary, but only because she is awesome!

Which Mary Marvel? From Marvel Comics? Or from DC Comics? I can never tell them apart. Lol.

You know what. Its not about the picture. Its what the picture foreshadowing. The shimmer is the 1st step of the staircase, let there be light, the lighteningbolt to a kite, a little yellow man eating balls for the gaming industry, Snow White for princesses, Madonna for pop princesses yet to come, fire, the forbidden apple, www.com, the first bacteria life........ all leading to an evolution!

I like to put on my proverbial prophet hat and for you, I see a lot of potential and it's coming out in style. Those lips are a gift. Use them well. Btw, it's rare that I see someone with lips on par or better than my own

That's serendipity: I've also just started using my own picture as my forum picture.

It's blurred because I don't like my face and I can only see the women in me when I squint my eyes and stare at the mirror long enough. So that's how I see myself at the moment!

The true me will emerge from the blur in june.

Well I hope my crummy (the way it was taken) picture helps. Also I kind of like that this has kicked off a convo about when we see our "real" selves. Sometimes I feel Sarah in the way I more or act. Sometimes it is in my eyes.
