I'm on heavy pain medication for years.  I started electrolysis a few weeks back.  I have got the best types of topical numbing agents finally, even injection (all legal from legal online sources if you must know)..  Ive used them in body mods and piercing too..

here is the strange thing, the first time she inserts the needle, then the electric and heat, I cannot feel any of it.  if she does it close to the same spot 2nd time, i can feel a slight discomfort of heat and a little shock.   the 3rd time, i can feel a burning sensation.  the 4th time is unbearable burning?

now if she moves to the other side of my face, the same issue starts over.  I can do this for about an hour until it just becomes too unbearable?  my face is numb?  but why does it hurt so much on sequential doses?  could it be the fact of heavy pain meds?  is there any fixes for this?  I can still do it, its torture, and she can do faster if the pain would just let her do her job.  at least she is patient with me:)  She is willing todo whatever i am offering, she has ran out of her methods that has worked on her other clients.  I checked her other work, even my mom was her client before her death..  any ideas to look into welcomed:)  thanks for reading.. jamie

Well just be sure she knows how to deal with beard removal - even though she was your mother's electro she may not have the right experience. My electro uses the multi probe galvanic method so I have up to 32 probes inserted in roughly the same area at the same time, even on the upper lip, the pain isn't fun but nor is it excruciating. It might just be how you are responding to the pain but it sounds like she might not be doing it right for your needs.

wow, never heard of that method.  hope she has.  she has done beards, she mostly admits she does around the lips and nose and unibrow for guys.
ive known her for a couple years from buying equipment from her.  glad i did, or id never met her and even thought about this venture..

hopefully this multimode has better response for me if nothing else works, i may be buying her a machine just for me:)  I wish i could say there are others, but i live in the desert and have issues i cant travel.  but shes great to me and willing to try anything to help..  thank you
Ms. Grace, you always have good replies.  wish you lived close, id love to sit and pick your brain somday:)

another idea, anybody ever use ice during the procedure?  i hear it somewhere..  I also have a medical grade ipl im using for my body hair.  the tip of it chills, if i dont let it cool down at first to cool the skin down, severe burn, but with it and some lube, its quite a simple procedure:)  my legs are almost bare permanently!  now starting on the naughty and upper areas:)  but would ice stop the burn.

its just the idea that the first and sometimes the second hair are painfree.  i know it was done, but then why the pain suddenly.  i was thinking the area may be heating up making the nerves active again?

but off i go to check out this multipin unit:)  maybe it could be electrode positioning?  it does feel like fillings in my teeth are becoming galvanic when triggered.  she has tried less current and heat, but with same issues..

Maybe Im just whiney, but it hurts!  j

i missed Jills post from october.  after looking it up on youtube and hearing a couple ladies talk about how to administer multi probe electrolysis, I was thinking this was a new form of s&m, but after reading comments like yours and finding others pointing that direction for better luck and less pain, looks like we are going to have to upgrade!  Its odd when researching for things the first time, you find answers except the one you needed.  If only i would have heard about this a couple months ago:)  I swore i was up on my hair machines!  I even searched the forums, and only found jills post by a google search?

Thank you again Ms. Grace with a fast response to set me strait.  I actually think even if i have the pain issue, it would not be as bad going this way..
