Jessika

Hi all,
Today I finally started my HRT. Had an E "dose" with breakfast and will rinse it down with a Spiro "dose" when it arrives today. :)

I hope my Ticker Factory works correctly.

Feels great to get started. :)

*hugs*

I hope it's everything you dreamed! Be patient, E can be subtle and mysterious, changing things behind the scenes, then suddenly, BOOM!
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

Thank you all for the wonderful replies. I'm watching my Mailbox like a Hawk for the Spiro to arrive. LOL

I was wondering, Does Aspirin or Red Wine help with the possibility of Blood Clots while on HRT, or is it rare if my health is pretty good?

Congratulations on the HRT!

Last month when I saw the endo for the first time, she asked me if I was taking a baby aspirin, which I said yes and she replied that it was good and to continue.  I understood her answer as to the baby aspirin being beneficial.

But I recommend that you check with your own doctor, as it may cause other problems in your particular case.

You additionally could ask your endo about sublingual use of e.
This way clotting might be additionally reduced somewhat.

If you take e sublingually more of it might enter the system, due to less being filtered out right away in the liver... you should therefore ask your endo.

Omgosh congrats! Im so jealous i hope i will be in your footsteps hopefully by next week  :icon_dizzy:

Aspirin actually would prevent blood clots rather than contribute to them because of its antiplatelet activity. This is why some people take a small amount of baby aspirin daily for heart health / stroke prevention.
My life doesn't exist in this lifetime.

Thank you all so much.

Yes, I started with the orange flavored baby aspirin. I take one maybe twice a week, should be ok. I hate pills unless I HAVE to have them...

Hormones I HAVE to have.  ;D

From my understanding, it appears aspirin or red wine help dilate blood vessels, much like the estradiol you're taking while having no significant effect on blood clots that occur in veins. Platelets and coagulation factors affected by estradiol taken orally are not the same thing. One is arterial, the other is venous. Please verify with doctors.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
