So I'm looking to move to a new city. I absolutely have to have NO snow, and alot of sunshine and warm.
I've researched for a while and travelled, and have come to the conclusion that it has to be Arizona, New Mexico or Utah...those are my top picks. More specifically, I want desert, dry, low-humidity, lots of sun and areas of those states seem to have what I want. Phoenix, for example, sounds like it might be perfect.

My question is though, for anyone who lives there or has travelled there...any thoughts on the states as a whole? How are the people--friendly, cold, aloof, welcoming, etc? And what are your opinions on obtaining basic post-op transsexual necessities--hormones and proper medical care?

While Arizona seems like it would work climate-wise, I'm not sure how many trans-friendly gynos there are, or how the pharmacists would react to dispensing estrogens. Despite my living stealth and being post-op for just this side of forever, I don't want to be somewhere that's so uptight that they'd even bother questioning why I'd need hormone replacement therapy...know what I mean? I can pull it off because at my age I can hypothetically had an early hysterectomy...but I'd rather not have to say something untrue--just get my Rx and be on my way.

Sorry for writing a book here.lol But you get what I'm asking? I'm just trying to get a vibe on Arizona, Utah and New Mexico to see how cool the people are, or if they're going to irritate me with neanderthal-like viewpoints. I realize Utah is chock full of Mormons, but I'm talking more like St. George and down in the desert lands. I don't have any issues with immigrants but I know Arizona is pretty harsh on illegals, so god knows how they treat citizens living there who aren't perfect little republican families...lol (no offense to republicans btw)

So if anybody has any thoughts or comments on some nice desert-land place with lots of sunshine(and no snow!!!!), post here please :)

You could have a look at a few lists... and do further research on places that might be interesting...

Santa Fe is supposed to be nice but very quiet...

Phoenix might be nice but not that lgbt friendly...

california might be a bit more open minded...

Thanks for that Lara...I'll have to check it out!:) I love CA...I would love to live in Ojai(I loves me some Bionic Woman lol) but the cost of living there is cray cray

I'll have to check out Santa Fe too....I know it was on one of my lists--I'll have to revisit it :)

Santa Fe was the first time I met a married gay couple. They had matching rings with a rainbow stained glass window in their house.

NM is a nice state, the North is very pretty in the mountains. Roswell is hokey but a cute town.

I'd suggest my home state, but you said absolutely no snow... So... That's Ok. I'll keep the snow and subzero weather. I'll take that over deadly snakes and spiders

OMG I laughed so hard when I read that I thought I'd pee!lol Same here about Albuquerque...nothing pos to say except I can drive through it at warp speed and pretend it doesn't exist...yuck:(
I'm just trying to escape the snow/dark/depression that we get here for like 8 months out of the year...I'm already struggling with severe depression (not related to gender, just the usual stuff) and dark, dreary does not help...and snow makes it worse and I get all panicked and feel trapped. The sun tends to give me energy and feel good and can be productive--unlike my winter life.
I'll have to check out Santa Fe. I initially wanted Sedona, but it's so damn expensive now you can't afford to live there...Same with Sonoma. I only picked Phoenix because I watch the weather forecast and it's sunny all the time and super-hot, but it's a dry heat :D Love the desert:)
There are worse places...I lived in Oz and everything down there was prehistoric, deadly and had a desire to kill you. The one good thing was it got me to overcome my fear of spiders. I used to be hysterical if a tiny spider came near me, but down there, they're the size of dinner plates so I had to adapt and get over it. I can take whatever the desert's got--I've seen bigger ;) haha
