How much did your GRS cost in total including airfare, etc...? And are you happy with the results? I'm going to have enough if not really close to the amount I'm guessing. 15,000. I'm getting really excited. I can't wait. Just have to wait for the house I'm selling to close.

My surgery quote is for 330,000 Thai Bhat, but there is an addendum that additional skin graft will add 32,000 Thai Bhat. My understanding is that most of us need that skin graft so I am planning on 362,000 Thai Bhat total, which today, May 4th, converts to $10864.51, according to the currency conversion web site that I just checked.

As I recall, I figured out my time at the cottages was going to run about $900-$1000 for lodging. Add in another $1000 for food costs, which includes the option of buying a microwave since the cottages are reportedly not equipped with those. Then I added $2600 for two people (myself and friend) traveling to and from Bangkok.

So yes, that fits under $15,000 total, if going by yourself.

My actual costs are higher, however, since I also included BA in my procedures.

My surgery date is July 22nd, so I can't yet tell you if I am satisfied or not, but I know several other women who went to Dr. Chettawut who are happy with their results.

I was wondering if you would like me to move this to a better forum on here that is geared towards GRS and is likely to get seen by those who have either already had the procedure or are waiting to have the procedure. You might get your questions answered quicker this way.

I'm budgeting about $19,000 USD, but that is having BA done too which added about $3000.

I will try to break it down for you. Obviously exchange rates will alter  the cost of the actual op, Hotel and food as they are all priced in Thai Baht. Food cost will also depend on how you choose to eat. Because we did allot of our own cooking and so purchased kitchen equipment our cost may be lower than if you choose to eat from either local or hotel restaurants.

Surgery cost 330,000 Baht plus 32,000 for the skin graft.
Hotel (Bangkok Rama) cost 35,500 Baht for 30 nights
Food is hard to be exact as there was 2 of us but I'd say about 18,000 but if I were alone I'd definitely be able to eat really well for 12,000
Flights My return from Sydney to Bangkok was about AUD2450 but that was because my flight home was in Business Class. I could have had an economy return for AUD1000 on any of the 3 airlines that fly direct and cheaper on airlines like Scoot and Air Asia.

I am extremely happy with the job Chett did for me and so was he, I saw my family doctor on Monday and she's seen a few post op results before and all she said was it's beautiful and he did an amazing job so I assume it's as good as I think it is even if I already know I need a cosmetic revision that Chett said is really minor and he'll do next time I'm in Bangkok.

Hope that helps. If you'd like any other details on this feel free to PM me

The last US$ to THB rate I saw was 32 something Baht to the Dollar so if it remains that much then yes just under US$1100. You can pay the bill in cash and if the rate is getting more in your favour while you're there then that seems like the best option. The exchange rate offered in Thailand will beat anything you're offered at home and there are exchange booths in max value Center which is about a mile from hotel. There is a Thai Military Bank (TMB) ATM 200 yards from the hotel which will accept most cards.

Hope that helps :)

My best advice is to see what price they offer it for. Noi who I've previously stated I think the world of told me it is the best of the 3 hotels on offer. One of the issues you will face is similar to Dusit Princess, Being a hotel rather than an open area like Rama Cottages you can't just pop outside into the soi and have a walk in fresh air and mingle with the other girls there.

Thanks for the shared link Laura  ;D I am really interested how much Vertical Suites discount from their Rack Rate because as I stated in the post linked by Laura when November comes I'd like to try it out so when Bernadette goes for her SRS in a couple of years we have another option with full kitchen if I find it suitable.

Hope that helps

I can update my comments. I had a nice email from Som telling me Vertical Suites costs 1800 Baht per night for 1 or 2 persons including breakfast. From the photo's I've seen the one bedroom suite is more luxurious than Dusit Princess and the rooms which come in 2 sizes of 1 bedroom are allot larger. Easy access to Seacon Square and Paradise Park shopping centers.

I am going to stay there I think for my revision once we agree on what will be done and when :)

The revision is free for the first one and maybe the 2nd depending upon the reason but after that I think you'd be charged which I think is fair enough. They are not uncommon but then I think some are done just because the patient is being very particular about an aspect of their result. In my case Chett left slightly more skin than I have been able to naturally tighten probably partly due to me being overweight and having lost a considerable amount over the last 18 months. This means it was less elastic than younger skin would have been. Chett left as much skin as he needed to for blood flow so it wasn't really his fault but then I'd like it fixed and he has agreed to do it but said I shouldn't make a special trip because the op is so small.

I shall send you a private message about this in a day or so when I have got all the information together with some website links as well. You'll have a great time :)
