Virginia tech area

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but...is anybody in the Roanoke/Blacksburg Virginia area and interested in meeting or advising me where is safe to go? I will be around the Virginia Tech campus for a work trip june 22 and 23 and want to push myself somehow, some way...even if it is simply to talk to people like myself in person rather than via the interwebs.

Would love to know if anybody is around, or at least has been through and might know some good food suggestions at the very least as well.

Norfolk is a bit far from that but IIRC there are a couple of people I knew that moved out to that area. Neither of them are Trans but their both Bi and very supportive of the entire LGBTQ+ community and pretty active as well, so they might be able to offer up some info. I'll see if I can ping them for you. I know it's not what you're looking for but about the best I'd be able to offer.
