I have used some of my GI bill already, but work/kid/life got in the way of finishing school.  I am looking at going back to school and using that time to transition.  If I changed my name (and legal gender marker) while using the GI bill does this become a huge pain??  Also, if I waited to go to school until after name change is it still accessible?

Not sure, but they are starting to amend DD-214s to reflect name and gender changes.

An applicant's request to amend a DD 214 must be made in writing by use of a "DD Form 149 Application for Correction of Military Record Under the Provisions of Title 10, U.S. Code, Section 1552."

Also, have you been to our veterans thread Roll Call yet?

Hugs, Devlyn

Thank you, that is good news!

Yes, I did the poll and posted in "roll call".
