Hair removal for the first time ever.

Hi, I am 25 years old and I have been blessed with thick hair on my head. But I also have a lot of hair on my arms and legs, which I hate. I have booked an appointment with a Laser Hair removal Center in Port Coquitlam, called Beautimed. And This is my first time ever. What I am worried about is the side effects? How do we test it? Should I try a small area first and go back after a few days? Or wait for months to know exactly? I think I sound a bit silly here. But I want to be really sure before I go ahead.
