I completed my first week at work as Kim.  It went better than I could possibly expect! Many people were vocally supportive. My supervisor and manager have been wonderful! A few people have been a little quieter, but they seemed to be coming around as the week went on.

I came home on Friday to a really nice card from my Wife and Step-Sons: :) :)

Joe signed the card before Erin was done with it. :) My older step-son thinks I sometimes call him "Stinky"  :) Actually, I will call either of them "Stinky" if they've not showered in a while!  ;D

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Congratulations!

So...how does it feel to be out finally?!
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

It is really good! I told my wife yesterday: I have less strength, I have to take prescriptions drugs for the rest of my life, it takes me longer to get ready in the morning, longer to go to the bathroom, and longer to get ready for bed (with skin care).  I tossed my "male privilege" -- however you want to define that -- out the window and put myself squarely in the cross-hairs of people that want to discriminate against me. And yet...

...It is wonderful!  I am happier and feel more alive!

Kim :)
