Why is this difficult, let me count the ways...
1) It would be almost impossible to avoid having it devolve into a "I'm hot of ->-bleeped-<- sex" site.
2) Many of us would prefer to not out ourselves on the internet.
3) It would attract people who only want to abuse members of our community, who are frequently a rather fragile bunch.
4) If you try to control for 1 and 3 above, someone would accuse you of trying to decide who was and wasn't truly trans.
5) The most important reason, for a developer, we're such a small population that the business model wouldn't work.
All of that said, I think we do need that service, but it would work better as an addition to an existing, more general site. We have the same variations in sexuality that the rest of the population has, gay, lesbian, bi, asexual, and so many more. Give me, (well, not me, I'm happily married,) the ability to filter based on that and openness to trans inclusive relationships and I've got what I need. The last thing we need at this stage is to isolate ourselves. Inclusion's our goal, right?
