InBetween

Hello. I am physically female and 18 years old. However, I may identify as an androgyne leaning toward male. I am currently trying to get more masculine clothes, and possibly make more of a transition soon after (as in cutting my hair, so on, although I do surprisingly like my long hair). However, I still live with my parents, and I am not sure when exactly I will be able to move out entirely and support myself. That could take a couple more years, unfortunately, and thus it is difficult to get my parents to understand.

The other concern I have is that this is just a phase, although my want to make a transition has lasted about a year now so far...and I have always wanted to be male, or preferred interacting with males. In sex-ed, I would always feel a longing when males were mentioned or "hermaphrodites". They would talk about the male sex organs, and I would feel that I should have them, not female sex organs....or both at very least. Although I am not so sure I want to go ahead and have a sex change...it's almost as if I just wish I were born that way (male).

My interests include, science, psychology, the supernatural, spiritual, and I am a big Cher fan.

Hoping to get some good support,

-InBetween

Heya InBetween.  Welcome to Susan's.

Hope you find the support you require here, our little community of androgynes is rapidly growing.  Sounds like you'd be an interesting person to exchange thoughts on being non-binary with too  :)

See you around!

Hi Inbetween and welcome to Susan's Place.  You're very young and you have your whole life ahead of you...so there's no need for you to rush into anything.  Take your time and seek out a good gender therapist before you make any important decisions.  You will find a lot of good advice here but ultimately you should seek professional help.  Good luck on your journey.

Hugs & kisses,

Monika

Hi Inbetween!

There are indeed a lot of people here who have been where you are now.  Whatever the future holds for you, share your dreams and struggles.  We all benefit.  I look forward to hearing how things progress.
