Hi guys, so I've got an absolutely great endocrinologist to administrate my hormonal transition. I'm quite happy with her care. The problem is, I'm not pleased with my primary physician. He isn't bad, but he also has absolutely no experience with transgender patients. He has a history of rushing patients out the door without even doing anything. I used to have a better physician pre-HRT but he moved to a private clinic. So... I kinda haven't been to see a primary physician since before I started HRT? Like, it's been over two years now since I had a check up.
Now granted, I'm in great health. I'm young, I'm ideal weight, and I don't have any major medical concerns. Thus far my endocrinologist has said that my endocrine system is doing great... but what about the rest of me? It also doesn't help that seeing my endocrinologist isn't the cheapest venture...
So my question is this: How do I go about finding a primary care physician, who is in my network, will actually give me the time of day, and actually knows something about trans health care. Specifically, I want to know, if I call a place to ask about the doctors they have on staff, what sort of questions should I ask to the doctor to see if they fit within my parameters, what kinda services are necessary, etc.
