Hi, thanks for all the help that I've received so far from this forum! I'm planning for FFS in a couple months. I've consulted with Dr. Spiegel and Dr. Zukowski.. I already pass 95% as female despite still living as male full time for the time being. I've been on hormones for over 3 years, and I'm in my very early twenty's... Id like to look more femme while remaining somewhat andro, so a subtle approach in some areas and an aggressive approach in others is my ideal outcome from FFS. I've done research for the last few years on FFS, planning and saving. In those few years Spiegel has always been my #1 choice because I want a type 3 forehead surgery with a US surgeon. I decided to consult with Zukowski too for a second opinion and I like his work. So here's my $10,000 dilemma...

Dr. Spiegel: forehead/hairline/brow lift, rhinoplasty, chin/jaw reduction, lip lift is $33.8K

Dr. Zukowski: forehead/hailine/brow lift, rhinoplasty, chin/jaw reduction, lip lift, lipofilling cheeks/ temples is $23.5K

I fully expected that price from Spiegel but Z's threw me off, it's so much more affordable! I want to go with Dr. S because I feel like I need a type 3 since I have a strong brow but is he too subtle when it comes to chin and nose work? Dr. Z could give me the chin I want but can he completely flatten my brow? Will he make my nose too unnatural and turned up...

I'm still leaning towards Dr. Spiegel, but Dr. Z's prices and results are just too irresistible! Is $10K worth it to go with Dr. S? If anyone has any experience or insight or advice please share!

Thanks so much in advance!  :)

Have you contacted Dr Mardirossian in Palm Beach?  He worked along Dr Spiegel before starting his own clinic.  I had Skype conversations and received a quote including Type III work.  At this point I'm leaning towards Dr Rossi, but I think Dr M is a very good option.

Why would you only want to consider surgeons in US? If you have any visable brow bossing, or even if you don't have brow bossing, but you have frontally projected forehead, you need type3 if you want to have a decent result. If you feel like you will be fine with just a little smoothing, and little more roundness to the whole forehead area, than you might be fine without type3. Alexandra from VFFS has a very good article on this http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/Forehead.html

If you want forehead done properly, I can only recommend dr. Spiegel and duo of doctors Ousterhout and Deschamps Braly in US. I can't recommend anyone based on stories, I can only give a fair opinion on large enough sample of results. How many side-profile before/after comparisons have you seen from dr. Zukowski, to make a fair observation of how good and how aggressive his forehead work can be?

Don't worry about chins or jaws. Each of those surgeons can be as aggressive or as conservative as you ask him to be. This is not a problem, if you know what you want. Also nose. I'm very shure dr. Zukowski can make you a perfect nose for your face, if you give the right direction of what you want. A subtle and delicate change and keeping most character of nose (just refined) it's a lot easier to achieve than drastic change. But a lot of patients want drastic change, and they want small, thin, upturned nose.. While some surgeons will refuse to do that, if they think this will give an unnatural look and result to a face as a whole, some other surgeons will happily give a patient what a patient wants and requests.

If you want to look outside of US, you have dr. Di Maggio in Buenos Aires, and Facial Team in Spain, both with more than enough great results to prove their worth. In about the same price range as dr. Zukowski.

Hi! Thanks so much for the suggestion! I'll definitely look into his work!  :)

Hey mmmmm, I really appreciate your feedback! Dr. Bart van de Ven had become my #1 choice for all of last year, so I definitely have considered going outside of the US, but my mother(who will be my caregiver post op) does not want to travel outside of the country, and I don't think I could do this recovery without her. She's already pretty scared about me having this intense of a surgery as it is, so that's why I crossed off potential surgeons outside of the US.
I totally agree with you about the forehead thing, that is why I'm currently struggling with my decision. I'm certain Dr. Zukowski would not be able to remove all the bossing I have but I'm wondering if maybe what he can achieve would be worth the savings. He said he could flatten up to 1/2 an inch in my consult but I don't feel like that is anywhere near realistic, lol... I've thought about splitting up procedures between the two to save money but it would be ore expensive after everything's factored in.
Thank you so much for the post, it really helped :)
