This is a neat night for once. I went to eat at a church in Bayview and when I sat down one guy left and as another had sat down. The one who sat down asked me if the man leaving was my husband  ::) ^-^

I was so thrilled. So you think I am a woman then? I asked he replied "yes"

not sure if he as serious, but we talked and he saw nothing else but a girl. And thats without dressing up and unshaven

I am thinking to myself "yeah right with my big upper frame and male fat, sure uh huh"

but obviously he wasant focused on that. Apparently I am oozing feminine energy, at least 10 people have told me.

This is really helping my dyshphoria even if I know I am fat and big.

Who's Kim Novak? You mean Kim Kardashian?

Well now it's back to sir again on the bus home. I'm forgetting everyone's perception of me will not be the same as the next person.

I live in a farming district so dressing up would make me stand out like a sore thumb.

Today I'm dressed up and made up. I work at a TV network in the city. So I guess I fit in today... If I was doing the news! Most of my colleagues dress down.

Have you considered working as a reporter?

I have and I don't think I would. Maybe I'll do a discussion show later on (big if).

For me, I don't feel confident enough unless I dress up. I'm also having trouble portraying femininity regardless of if I'm dressed up or not. I find myself slipping into male mode all the time despite my best attempts. It's very aggravating.

For me I just override that inner fear and just go out as myself. I go out dressed down and dressed up. Yes some people read me but most pay no attention.

I find that if i don't dress up enough I am seen by some as male.  When I take the time to dress up a bit more carefully its ma'am all the time.   That said, I only dress up to a little more than the average woman around me.  But unless I am careful to include enough gender markers I know from experience that I can fail.   And a very small difference in appearance can make a big difference in how I am perceived.

That said, I just drove from 1000 miles from the midwest to New England and back again, used the appropriate restrooms all the way and never had a problem.  But I was a little careful about my appearance.
