Hi,
While I will be discussing this topic with a doctor, I wanted to get some thoughts/insight/experience on this topic.
I am currently working with a therapist regarding GD and will be starting HRT in the next couple months. A big part of my current (early) transition focus has been around weight loss and candidly I have been taking it slow with starting HRT so I could effectively lose weight quickly (current physical male metabolism has this single advantage to me!) I have been very successful with my loss and I am nearly where I want to be at the start of HRT. However, because I am in my early 40s, I have love handles which won't ever go entirely away from diet and exercise. And they need to go.
So, I am planning to get Lipo done soon. And I believe I will be cleared for HRT soon. Given that HRT is generally suspended before surgery, my thought is to get the Lipo done first and then start HRT as soon as possible after the procedure. My question is- How long after surgery do you generally have to wait before (re)starting HRT? My understanding is Estrogen is stopped but anti-androgens can continue to be taken during the period of surgery and recovery, but I could be wrong.
So, anyone who have any experience or knowledge on timing for this type of situation? Thoughts on timing?
I should be ready to go with both lipo and HRT in the next 60 days. And I am so ready for both!
Thanks for your insights!
