Support the LGB but not the T

At work, well all over the town theres a military dinner party at the "grand hotel" for LGBT pride.. rainbows galore. Oh my lerd. So, Im thinking why all this support when openly transgenders are not allow? Officers generals all the big weights will be there.

My guess would be that because no one uses anything short of "LGBT" as their choice pride acronym anymore; I swear, half the people that say "LGBT" aloud don't know what even all four letters stand for ("Lesbian, Gay,... bacon, tomato?"). They probably just didn't want to get criticised, but also remember that at least a few guys pretty far up the chain, if I remember correctly, have stated that anti-trans laws for the US military is silly. So if this is more of a locally established dinner party, they might be genuinely supportive of the T in their forces while the higher-ups aren't so much.

I am no fan of the military but we can acknowledge they have adapted and have been part of inclusive diversity while addressing racism, sexism, rape and homophobia.  I would guess we will see transgender people serving openly in the near future.  Hang on.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they are slowly adapting. I mean I don't want to put myself on blast with the military but when the time comes and the protections will come by, then when they do find out of my being Transgender it won't come out a kick in the rear.

I was never really deploy-able anyways so the whole therapy and other means to guide me in the right direction for myself wont be much of a drawback for my military career.

We're included because our struggle for equality is similar to LGB people. The issue may be different, but the struggle is similar and in many cases actually worse.

Honestly I've always felt uncomfortable as a transgender-transsexual person, to be included in the LGB community, simply because it is a sexual orientation-based one, whereas the transgender "community" is a gender identity-based one, and those are two very different things. BTW I quoted the word community because clearly IMO, people who wish to be as stealth as possible, do not identify with it at all, and they exclude themselves either during their whole transition and life as stealth transsexuals, or at least later on when they finally accomplished the goal of blending in with cis people of their desired gender. 100% passable transgender activists that are non-stealth and totally open and proud of their being transgender, are a very small minority in my humble opinion.

But I do understand why "our group" has been included in there. Because otherwise, if even being there the vast majority of people have NO CLUE AT ALL about our existence, if we weren't there we would be non-existent for most cis people that don't have a family member or a close friend, work mate or business partner/associate who is actually a transgender person.

I hope I live to see one day, the transgender community existing on its very own, so we start being more accepted and understood as the LGB community is in this day and age.

Most research indicates that a majority percentage of us (TG&TS) also identify as LGBQIA.

I identify as both L and T myself. I also think the acronym is getting to many letters, so I prefer LGBT+. I've seen a lot of other people use that as well.
