Have to agree - I posted about this a while back, its probably different for me given that all my transition and stuff is long long in the past, but I tend to like to be honest with people even so.
Trouble is mention trans and many people of those sites immediately imagine either pre-op, or the typical newly postop person, both of whom are very different to the person you become after 30 or 40 years postop. So the expectation is somehow always wrong. Usually far too fetishistic and sexualised, and nowhere near refined and sophisticated enough for someone like me who is used to rubbing shoulders on equal terms with some of the world's movers and shakers. My problem that I'm looking for someone who won't be out of place in such company, and frankly most people on those sites really don't measure up.
So I'm starting to explore paid for introductions agencies, where they rigorously pre-vet the clients, and you have to pay maybe £1000 or more in membership, all of which keeps out those who aren't successful.
