I want to thank OpenDNS for their prompt response after I contacted them about this site being blocked by their parental filters as Pornography and Nudity.

This was their response.

Thanks for emailing us. I am pressed for time, but just wanted to let you know we removed the inaccurate tagging. My apologies. We have a long history of working to make sure LGBT sites are not inaccurately categorized.  You can see this point of view from us as far back as 2013: https://blog.opendns.com/2013/06/27/domain-tagging-category-facelift/ (though we've always had this perspective).

We're a San Francisco company with a diverse group of employees. We respect of all of them, their families, their friends, and the larger community we live and work in regardless of their gender, orientation, religious beliefs, or proclivities (hey, it's SF, after all). We expect our products and services to reflect that same level of respect.

Let us know if you see anything else amiss.

Thanks,
David

I ran across this tread and it explains something. When I first tried to sign up here I never receive the response email so with the aid of the chat room, they activated my account. Early in the month of July I stated receiving notification emails from Susan's so I knew something changed. My internet account is with earthlink.net and in attempting to activate my Susan's account I found they used a white list. It appears the reclassification may unlock many other internet providers as well. Thanks for the effort as I was going to try running this down when I had some time.

I don't know if this is related , but Whole foods in the area I live use to block on the bases nudity and pornography , I went there a few days ago and the sites been unblocked. I reported it unblocked a while back , but it was blocked again , I think they were just performing maintenance and let the shields down. this time though its totally unblocked through the wholefoods web page. The only thing is that every time you search on Susan's it asks if you want to continue because the sites certificate is not verified , but it let you continue on the site(just a news update)

And this, folks, is just the teensiest glimpse into the huge amount of work Susan does to ensure the site stays functional and accessible and useful. Which is why even a $5 donation is so vital to the continued health of the forum and all else! :)

Totally agree with Grace. It's all the stuff like that she does behind the scenes is why even a 5 dollar donation from people is cheap for the effort she puts in for all of us around her.

More than likely Whole Foods is using a man in the middle proxy and is intercepting secure traffic basically allowing them to eavesdrop on it. It may simply be a side affect of OpenDNS's adult filtering.  The actual secure certificate is fully validated and is trusted in all browsers.

You can view the certificate properties and this is approximately what you should see, anything else assume that someone is monitoring the connection...

The image is from Firefox but Internet Explorer and other browsers should be similar...

Which should tell all folks on this forum, that the certificate is not for free either. While Susan invests lots of work to the site, she also invests money. I know I did not donate yet, but I will as soon as I'm able to. And I want to encourage everyone to at least consider doing so too.

It must be a middle proxy. I went there yesterday and got on . you can connect to Susan's through Whole Foods , but every time you leave a post to go to another section on Susan's  it asks if you want to continue because the connection isn't verified or sometime like that . It doesn't mention the certificate per say.
