I've been here a few months... I kinda lack a fixed gender identity, so writing an introduction has been hard for me.  I was assigned male at birth 34 years ago, and raised by a Marine and a feminist hippie.

Lately, I've been identifying as a tomboy.  Largely, this is because I've kinda lived as a tomboy: with the boys, but always identifying as "other" than them despite being AMAB.  My closest friends have been tomboys and femme boys.  I always crushed on lesbians... or maybe that just stuck out because those crushes always went unrequited.

I've started socially transitioning (some friends know I'm queer) and I'm finally seeking HRT seriously.  My wife is finally being supportive after a few serious bumps, and last night, she said she was happy for me that I was going to call a doctor to make an appointment to consult about HRT!

I'm happy to be here (Susan's) this week.  That hasn't been true most of the time.  I refer to all this as my "gender ->-bleeped-<-," or "gender issues," depending on how I feel that day.  So accepting it is still a challenge.  But, progress is progress.

Sparrow, writing an introduction is no easy thing to do. So no worries. Not everyone writes one. I admire your courage to write one now. Welcome to Susan's. I'm glad you have started to be able to come out and started towards the medical end of your transition. Good luck and Hugs

Hi Sparrow

Sorry I did not welcome you before... sort of recall you joining in April xx

I like the tomboy view, I think that may have also fitted me a little more through much of my life, never fitting in with the men (in fact really was not me at all) I loved women's company much better, but again, they held back because of how they saw me, tended, always to float a bit and wear men's clothes that were much more unisex, most of the time being very specific about that. I often mimicked females, dancing, playing games/sports etc. (although never sporty myself, at all).

Anyway happy your are moving forward now and good luck on your journey
