Stretching?

I felt I got an unclear answer from my coordinator about this and mostly I'm wondering if I ->-bleeped-<-ed up scarring or not since I don't think she can adequately answer that anyway (and they said it looked fine but what do I know), but anyway, I did a peri and I am disallowed to even jog or anything until 6 weeks post op due to the risk of stretching the sutures which will increase the risk of bad scarring which I don't want.

So what happened was that I had to jog a little last week and the pain on my right side specifically on one particular part really got a lot worse and it's only beginning to subside in a way that's manageable without painkillers now and I'm wondering if I really ->-bleeped-<-ed up my scarring or not on that part. I am also disallowed to stretch my arms and such which kind of sucks because I get back/neck problems very easily due to how the pain has made it difficult to walk normally etc and I have an office job so I sit down a lot and thus also end up tensing a lot. (I for example struggle with tensing my jaw because of how I tense my neck which is something new that began after the surgery, because I never had this issue prior.)

Anyway, did you guys do some something which did accidentally stretch the wound and how bad did the scarring ultimately get, like needing to jog very briefly which increased pain? And what about the arms and moving them around etc to increase mobility and reduce stiffness? I haven't done this a lot, like 2-3 times and if I noticed that it got worse I obviously quit, but again, I don't want to ->-bleeped-<- up my scar on that side. My other side feels fine for some reason.

I had DI. My scars stretched closer to the armpit region because I was constantly reaching for things. But I also didn't care about scarring.

How many weeks post-op are you? I highly recommend following your doctor's orders exactly if you don't want to risk further pain or aesthetics. If they say no jogging or stretching, then no jogging or stretching. It's six weeks, not a lifetime.

Sometimes sides heal differently. I accidentally rolled over in my sleep on my left side while my drains were still in, and that side took a while to even out.

I have no problem with following the ordination; I just wasn't informed that I wasn't allowed to stretch or jog either since I asked today. I'm 3 weeks in. I just want to know whether someone else had a peri and they accidentally ended up moving more than what was required and it made the scarring worse.
