I've recently been signed up for GAP (Governor's Access Plan) and was told it will pay for my prescriptions, of which I have Estradiol and Spironolactone which right now I sell what little I have left in the world to keep on my hormones month to month. I'm not sure if it will pay for my hormones or not and I did get a packet, but it isn't clear to me. At the very least, I would hope it would pay for an endocrinologist visit as I've never been to one, until the present, I've been getting a primary care physician to prescribe my hormones and she checked my hormone levels once, but wasn't experienced at all with Trans patients, so it was kinda guesswork and I have no idea where my hormones levels are at or where I should be or if I'm where I need to be already.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section, I'm new here and still trying to figure out this site, so I hope some slack will be given on my ignorance.

Bump, I really need some answers on this, please!

Is there anything specifically mentioned in the Non-covered section? That would be a telltale sign. Doctors can code these things as an endocrine system disorder rather than anything transgender related. Have you spoken to your GP about it?

Doesn't appear to say it wouldn't cover hormones, what do you think? What's a GP?

GP = your PCP. No specific exclusion that I can see, that's a good start. You won't know until you try though. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst is always a good plan. Keep us updated on your progress.

What is a PCP? Only PCP I know of is the drug and I'm not on that stuff. I sure hope this pays for my hormones as I'm about out of money and really need my hormones as they help keep my anger from resurfacing among other things. The only reason I have to go on each day is my being on HRT, without it, I feel I may try to kill myself again.

Primary Care Physician = PCP

How do I get one of those or even get an endocrinologist? I've never been to an endocrinologist before, so I have no idea where my hormone levels are at.

Now I'm confused. You said you were getting hormones prescribed by your primary care physician in your first post in the thread?

Good news, the card covered my hormones, being crazy actually helped me out for once.  Now I need a new PCP and to finally find and see an endocrinologist and I'm set. Not sure how to do either.

Well, I'm glad things worked out for you! When I needed a primary care physician, I had them assign one to me from their list, maybe you could do that.
