So I have the email address for HR but still don't know how to go about it. I work in a cafe at a gym so I also have to come out to the cafe manager who I see all the time at work. I guess I could email HR to tell the general manager I'm trans and wish to change my name and then ask him to tell the cafe manager, but that may seem 'shady' and more awkward. Or I could just tell the GM and have a meeting with the CM and him to discuss me being trans and wanting to change my name, but again that'll be awkward and no way would I be brave enough to do that. Or I could wait until my week off from the 1st and do the first option,  but again that makes it seem like I'm ashamed or immature or 'shady'. I would like to get it done before Aug in a perfect world as I've lived with the dysphoria at work from being female for nearly 4 months. HELP.

The way i told my work was that i told my store manager first and explained to him that i have felt this way for a long time and i feel that it is in my best interrest that i go through the transition.. they may ask you questions regarding that. But it will only be curiosity.. then tell them that you will need to contact HR to find out where to go from there... i think that may be the best way to do it. Good luck xx
