My Breast Growth Seems to Have Stopped

Hi everyone,

I've been on hormone therapy for about 19 months now. I started to feel breast growth start about 2 months in. At first, it was just pain and burning with no development. Then, I could feel a small growth under each nipple. Over time, I could clearly see that there were breasts forming. I could always tell when they were growing because they would get very sore and feel they weighed a ton. I think I could still see progress happening until about 12 months on HRT. At that point, they seemed to just stop growing. They hurt from time to time, but it doesn't last like it did when I could tell they were growing. If there's any growth going on, it must be very slow and steady, because I don't notice it.

My doctor says she thinks I'm in late tanner stage 2 right now, or maybe very early 3. I've been there for about 6 months now, and as far as I can tell, there's not much going on. I'm 30, and I'm afraid that maybe this is all that's going to happen for me. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts. Is it common in trans women over 30 for breast development to stop completely without completing Tanner stage 5?

I think you'll be fine, always came in waves for me. I Still feel get tender sometimes and feel like they are growing a decade later.

I'm not familiar with the Tanner stages, but I know from my own experience that breast development will reach a point where it will slow right down and virtually stop after two years on HRT.  Much depends on family genetics and both my elder sister and my Mum are fairly flat chested so I wasn't expecting miracles.  Just recently however I changed to Climara patches and my breasts woke up and did a little more growing after 20 years of staying much the same.  Nothing startling though, but it still was a surprise.

Can't say mine have grown much over the last ten months or so. Rounded out a bit maybe. I can still feel the "growing tingle" every now and then but there's nothing noticeable growth wise over the last few months. It's hard to gauge though, when you see them everyday you are unlikely to notice any gradual change. I'm a B, pretty happy with that even though a C would be awesome!

Hi I have been on a low dose HRT (Progynova) for a little over 2.4 years and my breasts have definitely been growing in a Start-Stop-Start process. I am now a small B Cup (42B) sometimes 44B depending on when I am feeling a bit bloated.  Right now I seem to have hit a bit of a plateau. But I have been here before.  My mother was DD Cup and my Maternal Grandmother was also DD, and so was my Aunts; whereas my Paternal Grandmother was DDD. So I am sort of expecting to get to a small C, although I would prefer to be a D Cup which I think on my frame will be just about right.

But I expect I will need BA to achieve a D Cup.

So the reality is I reckon they will probably keep growing for some time yet.

You could think about adding some bioidentical progesterone...
only bioidentical, synthetic has different effects...

another point might be breast massage, regularly twice a day for a few minutes, with a good organic oil suitable for that purpose...

and adding some avocado oil to nutrition might help with fat distribution according to a doctor...

Cis girls take 5-10 years to see full growth, so this is early yet. Also, the more volume there is, the harder it will be to see changes; think of the difference between putting water into an empty balloon versus a full one. Lastly, pain does not necessarily equate with progress - there are plenty of women who develop at times without pain, and some who complain of pain but no changes.

In my own experience, and that of the cis women I've spoken to, breast growth does go in cycles, with "dormant" periods where the body is likely preparing or doing other things that aren't immediately noticeable.

(I started at 32 and am Tanner stage V now, but it took at least 4 years to get to that point, and they're still slightly changing at almost 6 years on HRT,  though now it's more a question of once a year or so I notice my bras seem a little tight.)

My growth stopped about a year ago. Then over the last month or so, ache, yes that ache!

Back to total tenderness. Rather nice!

You could think about adding some bioidentical progesterone...


a good organic oil suitable for that purpose...

These two things have worked wonders for me, especially the oil.  I buy high quality 'ultra pure' organic olive oil, and take 3 tablespoons with a half tablespoon of high quality aged basalmic vinegar ->-bleeped-<- (it helps counter the taste of the oil).  I've found that the oil is almost as 'magick' as the Prometrium (bioidentical progesterone, as stated above).  One added benefit is the many tremendous health factors.    Dani
