When homeless trans men face violence, there are no places to turn

The Advocate/by KD   07/21/2015

"I started my journey toward living as the man I am at 12. I had always been a masculine kid. And nearly from birth, I'd gone from foster care to living on both sides of my abusive parents' and stepparents' families. Every place I landed, there was more emotional abuse — or worse, sexual abuse — heaped on me. It was inescapable."

Just making a point...

"When homeless men face violence, there are no places to turn"   -- Fixed it for you.

If a man is attacked? He should've been able to defend himself.
Except he goes to prison for defending himself.

And, when it was mostly women who were homeless, there was a huge outcry...
Now it's mostly males, and veterans make up a large percentage of homeless...

Where is the outcry?

I'm not seeking to derail the thread, but wanted to point out: We shouldn't be exclusionary if we are looking for equality. (Having said that, I am also aware the op-ed was not written by someone here.  ;-)  )  We just need to be sensitive the same way we want others to be sensitive towards us.
