Deciding between FFS surgeons for 2016 surgery. Dr Supron or Dr Bart?

Hi everyone its been awhile since I posted but I would like your advice in picking surgeons for my FFS which I plan to have next year.

I live in Australia so naturally a Thailand surgeon would be easiest and I've got my money set on Dr Suporn since he's done some pretty good work facially and since I had my SRS with him a year ago I get a 50,000 baht discount.

However I really like the results of Dr Bart in Antwerp and he seems fairly cheap in comparison.

All in all has anyone had Facial experience with either and would you recommend one over the other?

Negatives with Suporn is mainly I don't have much to view in regards to his work on younger current patients since his profile results are a decade ago and in their 30-40's.

For Dr Bart this isn't an issue but the greater travel distance combined with the higher accommodation expenses is off putting. Especially for my Mum since she doesn't want to go economy class for a 24hr trip. (Can't blame her really lol)

Basically Suporn is a lot more convenient but I don't have a lot of results to compare unlike Dr Bart.

Any advice?

i haven't had my ffs, but i am facing a similar dilemma as you. i'm only a 2 hours flight away from thailand - naturally the choice is a lot more convenient as you put it. my top choice was dr chettawut as he did my srs and i loved my time there and how i was taken care of by the clinic.

i was so dead set on thailand as i was one of those who had the 'travel half across the globe to have such a major surgery? you must be crazy!'' mentality.

but i looked at Dr bart's results and was tempted. with NO clue on his costs [point here it i want to emphasise that i was being objective and not swayed by the cost], i emailed him and to my surprise, it was so much more affordable!

the surgery itself was about 3/5 of Dr chettawut. which means i pay approximately the SAME for both options, except i get a short holiday in antwerp for Dr bart! that's not all - for dr chettawut, he charges separately for individual procedures, for instance forehead brow bossing is one, then hairline advancement is a separate cost, and forehead lift is a separate cost. there's a 'package price of course..

on the other hand, this was already all inclusive in dr bart's cost, and i liked that idea. it was all more rounded and holistic and the forehead was viewed as ONE entity and 3 dimensional, not a 'which procedure u want from the list and pay for it' kind of approach.

i have thus made my decision for dr bart. concerned about long flight of course, but also excited to be able to visit somewhere i've never been and enjoy the cooler weather (Which may be more helpful for FFS?) as compared to Asia which is more humid.....

p/s: both surgeons are excellent. and i am objectively saying this as dr chettawut was my srs surgeon.

If you are also thinking about traveling across the world you should consider the two FFS surgeons located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  There are multiple threads regarding Dr Rossi or DiMaggio.

I'm in the same situation. I'm a Chinese, studying at Europe, my face is asiatique. But I don't want to go to Asian for my surgery. That takes me too much time that I can not afford. and Dr Bart is near me. but it's not just about the distance.
You see that  FFS in Asian and Europe gives me two feeling totally different. and have their own pros and cons.
.... don't know what to do either ....

Dr Bart. That's what he does.  The  only thing he does! Not a bit of this and SRS.  Plus,  your face type is the type he
Specialises in. 

You do this once. Do it right,  not conveniently.  Just my thoughts.

My friend is about to undergo FFS so I am helping her out with choosing a doctor. For FFS you choose your doctor based on the results. I was researching all doctors and I think that Dr Bart delivers strange foreheads. I am not sure what he does but it looks to me like he doesn't remove the bossing at all just fills the forehead to a convex projection. Not sure though. Chettawut seems like a good option, very expensive though. I am not sure about Suporn, he has some good results on his web. But I really came to like the Argentinean doctors the best. I would never choose a doctor based on location and price. I think that FFS is even more important than SRS. Or for me it was. You should really study carefully the results of different doctors, compare them with your expectations and than decide where to go to.

I'm Asian-Australian so I have to fly very far for any ffs anyway. I wanted the Thai surgeons because I assume they have more experience with people of Asian heritages (really just a personal assumption). My choice between Suporn and Chett was that Chett was almost 10k AUD cheaper. I'm going at the end of the year.

I understand the time issue about flight. But, for me, it is strange to consider it included the more expensive cost.
I think you have to do what you feel in the deep of you and I am pretty sure, your choice already is done. Take time t listen this part of  you.
For me, the good choice exclude cost or time flight.
Dr Bart is a wonderful person, kind and soft. For me, an excellent surgeon. Now you can stay in his clinic for your stay, I think it is the best choice.
I did with him 4 months ago. For me, no pain never, discomfort but no pain.
If you eliminate the flight and money issues, what would you choose ? here is, in my opinion, the answer for you.

I had forehead reconstruction with Dr Suporn and I am very happy with the results. He really gave me the most beautiful, curved, smooth, feminine forehead I've ever seen. My own forehead contouring result is among the best I've ever seen from any surgeon, and I'm not saying that to toot my own horn or because I suffer from doctor worship - it's simply how I see it. On the other hand, the hair grafts to the temple leave a lot to be desired and I've often considered having them redone. It's been several years and I still haven't, so I guess it doesn't bother me that much. Overall, it was worth it. The only person that has made me feel "ungh, I wish I had gone to him" about another doctor is a girl I know of who went to Doctor O - he basically made her go from small beady eyed boy, to model type prominent eyes girl. That being said, I can't say for certain if my results are consistent with Dr Suporn's usual work, but the other younger girls I saw who were there at the same time as me had good results too! His stitching is also superior to most of the western surgeons I've seen results from. My scar was never visible and I scar badly (as in ugly).

Did you only have the forehead done?  Did you have any chin or mandible work as well?  If so, how did that go.  Was it as good as the forehead?

I would have trusted the rest of my face to Dr Suporn, no doubt, however there are other surgeons I would go to for full FFS. It depends what's the most important to you. I'm very happy I had my forehead done with Dr Suporn as I believe he is one of the very best at this particular surgery. He also has a proprietary technique called the forehead setback, I believe. Well who are you going to for the rest of his work.  His forehead technique isn't "propriety" I think that's just a marketing thing from Thai doctors.  His technique is straight forward, and other doctors do the same thing.  I'm just talking about the technique, not the skill.

I went to Bart and he did a really good job with my jaw,forehead,lips and cheeks.My nose less so but it is ok.I would put some before and after pictures but I cant seem to copy and paste them into this text.Bart is really quite a nice man,gentle and softly spoken.My surgery was in Ghent but now he has a new practice in Antwerp that looks so much better.
