:o ??? well now this is new! I am nearly 9 months now into total time on HRT and when we started I was a good size 13 (usually 13w depending) Now I bought a pair of 12W and they are now all of the sudden in the last month too big too.

I am wearing some Champions from Pay less and they are comfort memory foam tennis shoes with no laces. So maybe that's it. But still I tried on a pair of brown flats with a bow on them and 12Wide also ...same thing! I can put my finger in there~ have to wear thick socks to even use them. I am going back in the store soon to explore this. If I am actually a 11w now?? That would be so cool. Ross stops at 11 size, opens doors.

well, you've lost a lot of weight which would help quite a bit. I wish my feet would shrink though.

That's true! I stared at 350 about 2 1/2 years ago to current 265 now.

Gratzes on your loss!  Losing weight would explain it.

hmm really? i can see how it affects the width, maybe just the all around fat under the surface leaving allows for that extra space?

Losing weight does help out. For a long time I was size 12 and after losing a good hundred I'm done to 11

Well, I'll let you know, I'm determined to get rid of my stomach so when that happens I'll look into shoes .

I've read estrogen can reduze size of cartilage, I know my current doc martins are a size smaller than my pre hrt ones and I'm an inch or 2 shorter (but weigh more). But people get shorter with age and it's probably I just had the wrong size shoes pre hrt.

Also brands vary in size a lot.
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Yep, feet can get smaller (and often do) once you start hormones. Mine shrunk two EU sizes and I was a bit confused at first, but then other people on hormones told me that the exact same thing happened to them once they started.

At first I was all confused as to how it can be, but then it was explained that it's just a reduction in cartilage and changes in connective tissue. There's a whole heap of surprising things that happen on hormones and that aren't discussed as widely.

Mine dropped a size.
I started HRT on my 18th b'day and blockers at 14/15.

I think it has more to do with fat in the feet than anything else.

was a 9, now a 8, can get into a 7 with a trick or 2
Yes! I'm single
And you'll have to be pretty f'ing amazing to change that

I went from US size 9 men's to size 9 women's or size 7 UK/Aus. I lost weight and hormones helped.

Loss of body fat and reduction in musculature will make feet smaller/slimmer. The bones remain the same size, it's just the padding that's different. Same thing happens with the hands.

Hi! I haven't been on hormones as long as you; I have only been on since April. My weight has held very steady only losing about 5 lbs. However, all of those other changes have begun to happen to me, things that many people say are myths. For example, I am about 1.5 inches shorter ( now 6"3"), my feet have shrunken a size and other changes too. HRT has given me some surprises.

For all of my adult(?) life I was a men's 10 1/2, Wide if I could get it to perhaps 11. For much of my adult life my weight was fairly constantish. But even when I was 100 lbs heavier my shoe size was the same.

Today by guy dress shoes float on me. Sneakers are about the same size but I fit nicely into women's 10 1/2 and float in the 12-13 shoes I used to have to try to find.

Vanity sizing maybe?  Years ago in clothes I need 12-14, today its mostly a size 10, I can even wear some size eights.

This is really interesting, I never thought about those kinds of things changing. I am starting hormones finally tomorrow, so I am going to take lots of accurate measurements today so I will be able to compare them later on.

I have always had size 41-42 for shoes, now it is 40-40.5. Bones have not changed, of course, but something else is... Now, I am literally stepping out of my old shoes when I try to wear them :D.
