How's the poem coming along, Cindy?  ;)  >:-)

<Cindy files a legal suit against the Australian 'cricket' team>

Yes the poem is going nicely Matt!

Here is a start for you Cindy

Oh freddled gruntbuggly,Thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.Groop,
I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes,
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts
With my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!
So long and thanks for all the fish

Brilliant!  We now have a Poet in Residence ;)

A Kiwi girl offers condolences to the Aussies on being robbed of victory,  :icon_bunch:

Jenny demonstrates her grasp of financial language! I take it that is in layman's terms? Where do I sign?

Yes, Vogon Poetry is considered a war crime
So long and thanks for all the fish

Broadly speaking, today's not a good day to be an Aussie cricket fan. Any fan of Australian cricket, be they a dude or a broad, is probably wondering what the heck just broadsided them.

I could give you a broad outline of what's just happened, but suffice it to say the Aussies currently have their tails between their legs. If I were an Aussie, I wouldn't want to be abroad on the Internet right now.

;D

I'm writing the poem! Oh dear, what has gone wrong? Climate change? Tony Abbott?

Ah the poms have an Aussie coach! It is a conspiracy I tell you!

Oh me miserum.

I pay my debts!

There was a young man called Matt
And cricket was his passion
His team played the Aussies
Who participated in a fashion
When the last ball was over
They went to down to Dover
And with any luck found the White cliffs
Then jumped over

There is the next Ashes series, in Australia I believe.

I will return.

Maybe they should replace the men's team with the women's - might win for once!! ;)

Hey sis - I thought I might help you out with a poetry demo... seeing as I do have an MA in creative writing and all that...  :P

A woman called Cindy one wagered she write
A poem reminding us all of the fight.
Heroic fine batsmen Australians too,
who though that the english were destined to lose.
Too late did she realise the depth of her folly.
The England team won without use of a brolly.
For once rain avoided the days of the match,
and worse england's fielders did not drop a catch.
It must feel quite hard when a nations pride crashes,
With england on course to reclaim our ashes!
