Hello,

I was told by Peera that after consultation with the doctor I could pay for my surgery with cash instead of travel cards to avoid a 3% extra charge. Does anybody know what he means ?  I dont think he means a suitcase of bills haha, so perhaps a wire transfer ?

I saw in a previous older thread that someone asked the same question.. but the thread stopped after that unfortunately.  I wonder what that person did ?   My concern is just being confident moneywise when the flight date arrives.

Thanks!

You should call the doctors office because there are several ways of doing that and some may not be acceptable. Personal check, bank check, certified check, wire transfer, travelers checks and a big wad of $100 bills are all considered cash but several require time to clear the bank and would delay treatment.

Thanks for the reply.  I dont mean to be disrespectful.  Carrying thousands in pure bills seems extremely risky, and crude.  Do I just fill a carryon suitcase ?

Eg. $50k in $100 bills is 500 bills. 5 stacks of 100 are easily put within your carry on luggage. No need for a suitcase!

They are phasing out the 500 euro notes but we europeans can still use the 200 euro ones. 50k euro would be 250 bills, even easier.

I had my bills in a pouch I carried around my waist. I was too afraid to put them inside the bags. Its mostly because I did the trip alone.  If i had someone with me it would have been easier.
