Ok I'm starting a new job in a few days my orientation is in 2 days. I'm pre T but havey first apt the 31st. I filled out the application as female but I want them to know that I am trans. I know the one girl there dosnt care much for it but the head boss seems cool about everything. So what or how should I go about bringing this up to my boss about me transitioning and such? Just looking for advice. Thanks in advance!

There's really no easy way to do it. I was 80% sure my boss would be fine with my transition - he's very supportive of LGBT rights, but I worried that it may cause us to lose clients so I wasn't 100% sure. I had already started T when I told him. He asked me if I could get a passport and go up to one of our other offices in Canada for training. I told him I could, but that I'd prefer to wait, as I was planning to change my name in the near future. That made him ask what I was changing my name to, and from there, we segued into my transition.

You could try to do something similar if there are things like name badges or ID cards that you get at work. Ask if you can put a preferred name on there, or if they are difficult to get changed. When he asks why, let him know that you're trans and planning to change your name in the next few months.

Just be open an forthright about it. Some of it is dependent on when you intend to start presenting as male - from day one or a few months later? Maybe something like:

"Hi boss, can we have a confidential chat? So I'm transgender, I'm going to soon be transitioning from female to present as male. That means I'll be starting to take testosterone and will be going through a few noticeable physical changes. I'll be wearing male clothing, use the male rest-rooms and would like for people to call me "x" and refer to me as he/him/sir/Mr. It isn't going to have an impact on my ability to do my job - if anything the process of transition will boost my general wellbeing, confidence and approach to work. I'm hoping you and the business can be supportive of me in this phase of my life..."

I wish well for you.  I have been explicitly fired twice for being post-op M-F - both had been career jobs:

     -  seven years as a federal employee (1985),

     -  20 years as a state employee (2008).

I kept my personal life private from work; it was the employer who did the snooping.  Unfortuneately, an employer can fire you because you are trans.

Sorry but I don't have much advice apart from emailing her or tell her when you next see her. I just wanted to say congratulations. I've only told work now after 4 months working there and I'm also pre T, well done, you should be proud :)
