So yeah. That happened.

Of all the things I never expected to happen once I transitioned... that has to be one of them! I don't think I look (I hope) that old (or pregnant) so it seemed a fairly chivalrous act. I did decline but he insisted he was getting off at the next stop anyway so down I sat. He was a young guy, it was rather amusing.

What's the most peculiar thing a guy has done for you while you were in girl-mode/post transition?

i constantly get people opening doors for me & letting me go ahead of them in lines, etc. im always really grateful when it happens. its not something im used to

I don't know if this counts , but yesterday I was sitting in an outdoor café with coffee and my computer and the guy next to me offered to give me his Burger King Whopper. I don't know if he thought I was hungry or homeless. It was something that never happened before though.

I don't know if this is the right place for this but two nights ago I went to the emergency room with my first ever UTI. Welcome to the fun of woman hood. As my voice is still messed up from the voice surgery two weeks ago, my communication speed is limited to that of paper and pen. I communicated my needs to the admitting people and then was sent to a room in order to wait as there were other people in far worst shape than I was. The doctor came in and I explained my non-standard plumbing and he was even aware of the type of SRS I had before I communicated it to him. I then produced the required sample and went back to waiting. About 3 hours after entering the hospital, the doctor returned to me with his nose in the paper work and said sir. Before I even had time to protest, it was quickly followed by ma'am and sorry. It appears he had sensitivity training but being distracted, he forgot it. In any case, he was nice enough and I got what I needed. Unfortunately the drug stores were closed so I had to wait until 8 am to get started on the medication.

My problem is that men tend to suddenly become blunt and unkind after hearing my voice.
Nowadays I am rather careful in my voice...

i mean, i am a feminist, but im not going to get mad at someone for making a polite gesture, even if it is a little archaic.

i dont really have problems with my voice, that would be the last thing to out me as trans honestly.

When travelling by train, an elderly gentleman-cyclist took care of my bicycle - he put it on wall-mounted bike holding rack. Basically, he insisted to help me (took the steer from me) and then struggled with my bike (it's a Dutch bike from previous millenium, so it is actually quite heavy) - it was quite amusing, because bike was obviously too large and heavy for him, but he did enjoy himself

Oh, and I had another case when a guy wanted to take my bike upstairs, but I politely declined.
And one case of free minor bike service...
Somehow, all of this is bike related, lol

Happens to me all the time. In fact even the CEO of our company held the door for me.

Congrats though. It feels nice the first few times but after a while it becomes passé.

I really do believe in chivalry and being sensitive to the needs of any woman(although its harder to do when I am in a crummy mood but I don't go acting like a complete jerk either

).

I just think lots of women would find me rather tasteless and uninteresting because I come off as a nice guy instead of the thrilling, on-the-edge-of-your-seat bad boy that tv indoctrinates young men to be and women to fall in love with.

Not sure if he was being helpful or just wanted my cart back, but I was in the Target parking lot unloading my stuff into my car when this guy who worked there came by and helped me load my stuff. I was dressed like I go to work though, girl slacks, girl shoes, earrings, nail polish, and a boy's polo.

Ohhh, at a show on Monday, this tall, adorable, Scandinavian guy was telling me how gorgeous I am.

After a while, I hugged him and purred into his chest. Gosh, I sooooo should have kissed him.

I had to take a train when I went to a convention in May. I don't really know how the train staff would have treated me before transition but they sure were helpful. The rules on the site clearly stated staff would not help you lift any of your stuff onto the train and to only bring what you could carry yourself. Well, two guys both helped me haul all my junk up the steps and didn't seem put out at all or even irritated. Yes, yes, I know I should have brought less with me... but all those clothes man. I needed a lot of outfits. XD

a few weeks ago I was sitting outside my therapist office in the lobby and a gentleman walked by me as I was sitting on a bench. I walk with a cane and as he walked by me he asked if I wanted him to help me stand up so I could get to the office. Very sweet.

Guys regularly open doors for me and let me go ahead and they are offering their help a lot more when I'm in girl mode. Sometimes the motivation behind these help offers are sexist in nature when they assume that I can't know about cars or computers for example. This can be quite annoying but it's a great conformation for me.
