I was chatting on the phone with my little sister last night and she brought up I am Cait, said they watched it. I think we came to the consensus that it would be difficult to compare Caitlyn too much with your average everyday run of the mill trans woman because like it or not, having that much money and notoriety that getting to resources and making it happen is so much easier for them, so yeah, she and others like her are going to be out of touch. Going and talking with less fortunate ones helps some, but still there will be a lack of true understanding that only real experience of similar things will bring about. Should she continually be criticized for it? No, she's lucky, many of us are not, its life and we can't condemn her for it. Other stories will be told and hopefully people will learn that there is as much variation in the lives of trans people as there are in cis people's lives.
And just to throw this in, zoey needs to reel herself in a bit, she's going to make herself a spectacle.
