Hey everyone. I am here to ask you guys if anyone here has gone to a real hypnosis? Not the Hollywood stuff. I have a lot of things happened to me in the past that inkinda forgot about unless someone kinda mentions, or I get triggered somehow but my memory is hazzy. I am full aware of crappy hypnos and am avoiding. But believe nthis will help. Any suggestions or experiences?? Thanks!

I've been hypnotized many times, but never as a therapy. I've never had memory regression done on me, so I can't say for sure whether it works, but there are hypnotists who have been trained in regression therapy who claim it can be effective. Hypnosis is really expensive and rarely accepts insurance, so that's something to factor in.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

My wife is trained in regression hypnosis, (I specialized in sports hypnosis). It can work, but be very careful to find one who's properly trained. It's very easy to accidentally plant false memories if you don't know what you're doing.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

I don't mean to derail this, but can not help it with professionals responding.  Can Hypnosis help with the fear of being in public?  My wife and I are completely comfortable with my ->-bleeped-<-.  I have tried to be very discreet, though not totally closeted, but do not do anything in public.  whether or not it has been the attempt to maintain a career, growing up when it was extremely uncomfortable for us, or just fear of change, could hypnosis help?  Note:have been to long term therapy which helped some things-but not the fear of being in public.

To Cloed33: I had a repressed memory that came to the surface during therapy.  It had caused ptsd and an inability to form any close relationships.  Bringing it to the surface helped me deal with it, though it still causes problems.

Hun, yes a therapist or hypnotist can help you out with emotional problems and such, but being brave is up to you. I'm scared just to have people look at me weird. But I've been forcing myself little by little to be more active in public. Just take baby steps. Think of something small that you're embarrassed or scared of doing in public, and just do it. Once you take the first step, it so much easier to go further. I went from pretty much only singing when I was bored at work to being bubbly, loud, wearing scented lotions, swaying my hips when I walk, and dancing a little when I feel like singing in just a couple days. But people have noticed that I seem happier, and that makes me happy. It only takes a couple acts of bravery to get over years of fears. And it sounds like wife would be more than willing to help you out in doing this.

There's nothing wrong with just wanting to be yourself. *hugs*
If I've known you more than an hour, I prolly love you  :icon_redface:

Thanks all.... I am out and fine with it, but there are past things that happened, I forgot, but effected me and only when someone mentioned it did it make some sense... Not a false memory but rather a familiar experience if that makes sense

Cindy, of course it can help. I had a client who was a cellist. She had no problem with large venues, but had performance anxiety when in small groups. I had her remember one incident of each type and it turned out that in the large groups she couldn't see the audience for the lights, so we made a plan together and in the next session helped her to ignore the people around her when playing. A good hypnotist could do something similar for you.
