Just wondering if anyone wears toe nail polish with boots or closed toe shoes.(disclaimer not meant as anything other than a curious question , no harm intended to anyone) . I use to wear polish all the time , but because  of my arthritis  I have a hard time with panty hose and polish on my toes. I can wear fish net because they are easier to put on , a lot more flexible then Legs . I'd like to wear polish on my toes , but its just too hard for me.

I think color is fun year round.  I do notice that some sandals can rub it off in places and then we play touch up.  But it is so fun to just be another imperfect girl out and about with polish :D

I know, yesterday the barista at the coffee shop  said she liked my nails even though the polish was chipped. I usually cover the entire nail , but the polish came off half the nail . It looked like the way some girls wear it with it centered in the middle leaving top and bottom of the nail uncovered.. It didn't look bad.

I like to polish mine no matter what time of year.  I just like the way it looks, even if it is just for me to see.

That being said:  I'm *much* lazier about keeping up with it during colder months....  "ohhhhh wow, that's really looking pretty worn and needs touched up.....  They'll make it another day!"   ::)

....Kinda like keeping legs shaved in the winter haha

Of course.  I don't wear nail polish for others I wear it for me.  I don't care if nobody else will see it.

I where nail polish all year round. My finger nails had a break for about the last month, but my toe nails were still polished during that time. Hugs

I polish my toenails all the time. I don't like sandals so no one ever knows except for me. I do my fingernails most of the time but they are bare for the moment awaiting a new color and I can't decide which to use.

yes I do polish my toe nails during winter, In winter i mostly polish with a clear polish with a white tip (french mani). I think it makes my toes look nice and feminine. I dont really do colors on my toes during winter as i found it comes off too easy when I wear boots and I love wearing boots, especially knee high boots with a nice heel.

In summer, i paint my toes in colors, as i wear mostly open shoes in summer. My fav colors, blue, green, red and maroon. I even wear a toe ring on one toes on each foot. The polish again makes my toes look feminine.

My hands, I almost always have nail polish on, the same fav colors as my toes or just a french mani.. sometimes even some nail art.

Since I wear size 11s and not all of them are made equal, a few of my boots squish my toes until I break them in a bit. Because of that, I typically keep my toe-nails trimmed and polished to blunt them in winter even though I put my sandals away for the season. Plus, I love getting mani-pedis
I used to have a bad picking habit, but keeping my nails polished and blunted prevents me from falling back on bad habits.

I just started polishing my toes. Currently wearing a metallic purple. It is a fun color.

As a previous poster mentioned, I just wear it for me. I would like to wear more sandals because A)It is still hot out where I am, and B) I would like to be more open about being trans.

That being said, does anyone have a color they go to? Or maybe a brand? I'm debating on getting a black polish for myself.

I get my polish from Target. From 1.99 -10.00 and nice colors. They have just about everything.

Yes, I wear polish on my toes year round and have since years before I transitioned. Prior to transition, I would keep my toes polished so I could at least have a little feminine touch without the rest of the world seeing. It's probably been at least ten years since I haven't had nail polish on my toes.

No I don't bother...I'm lazy as hell especially in the winter when nobody sees the toes lol. I mean I keep them nicely trimmed and whatnot but polish in the winter is horrid!! I love the dark shades but without fail I'll get smooshes from sock stitching or from where pointy toe boots pinch the tie against the boot. Sooo frustrating I just gave up. Kid that way if I do get to go out and wear open toed shoes, I won't have to scrape off the mess and start over, I can just paint and go :)

Heck yeah! It's just as nice to look at them in the winter as it is in every other season!

I think I need to start painting them again

Most definitely, since the age of about 13. It was something I was always able to get away with, stealthily, unless one was going swimming. Now at 37 and even in full guy mode I KEEP them polished. For the last 10 years I haven't let a whole week go by with out some kind of polish on my toes. I even wear "women's" sandals showing off my polished toes in various styles up to 3".
Do or do not there is no try!

I usually wear clear polish on my toes.

The only people that know are those that go to my yoga class. They're pretty laid back.

My teacher has a very good idea that I'm trans which is great because she speak to me like she would to another woman.  :)

I do! Mind you, where I go for the winter it is warm. It is shorts and flip flops most of the time (well when I don't have tennis shoes on!)

my toes seem so far away and tend to look like a 5 year old painted them, but I keep doing it, as for my fingers off and on my whole life, constantly in the last year they do get very chipped with my job and if I wanted them to stay looking good I would have to redo them 2-3 times a week instead its a weekly thing with me talking myself out of doing them when there only a little messy. My nails have also been breaking more lately, likely it has to do with hormone therapy. I guess I can trade my long perfect nails all the girls envy for boobs. :-)

Well I'm not giving up. Not for that part of me that hates myself. That part wants me to wither and die. not for you. Never for you.  --Loki: Agent of Asgard
