I'm a 15 y/o trans girl and my parents are letting me get anti testosterone. (AAAH :D) The only problem is... I haven't told them that i'm transgender. I just told them that I hated the masculine parts of my body and I wanted anti testosterone to prevent it. So I can't go to a transgender clinic or anything like that. My mom is religious and If I told her she would NEVER let me on antiandrogens. I told my mom I needed to go to a endocrinologist. But I think it will be really hard getting anti androgens without seeing someone known for dealing with these issues. Do you think the doctor will understand? Or will I just really confuse them? Omg can I even do this without seeing a gender therapist first? I really hope I don't. It's just anti testosterone. It's completely irreversible. (ignore the being infertile part :/)

Endocrinologist is who would give you blockers and hrt, remember it's not healthy to have imbalanced hormones and this is all very complicated with a growing body.

I would assume you need parental consent at your age, I'll let someone else chime in.
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

So your saying even if i'm healthy enough to do it I still might not be able to take anti androgens?

Hello ,

Usually , our bodies need some kind of sex hormones to be healthy  , either estrogen or androgens , but i 've heard of this method being used in teen transgenders , just the anti androgens without estrogen .
I guess it depends on your location and the endo , if they would prescribe it for a different reason . For example in my country you can ' convince ' a doctor to prescribe something , but that also requires a little courage to use when talking with the endo .

I just hope everything will turn out well , some other persons here may have some information . I wish you good luck with it . Don't let them decide for your life , i know that at your age i accepted and gave up in front of many things .

Best wishes

You could have a look here for a few resources:

You have a few options:

-you could look for a transgender friendly endo or doc in your area. If you look up susans or on the internet you might find some.
You might tell the area where you live (not the adress... just the general area or city) so people might help you with known places...

-you could come out to your parents and ask for a gender therapist

-you could tell your parents you want a therapist for emotional reasons, and pick someone who has, amongst others, gender on their list

-you could look for plannedparenthood or a lgbt center and ask for counseling there. They should also have phone and email.
