I'd like to start going out en femme more often, especially to my therapy sessions. I bought a cute outfit today, but something was missing. Er... two somethings. I'd like to buy some breastforms, but I also want to see what I'm buying before I do. Are there any national chains that might carry convincing breast forms? Or a general type of store, like a medical supply store?

I could always resort to birdseed, but I'd prefer to get something a little more high quality if I have the option of seeing before buying.

Search for breastform on Amazon - amazon is your friend here... I've just finished a surgical placement on a breast and endocrine team and you can find the exact same prosthesis that we give to our masectomy ladies there... so you will find what you need there.

I bought a pair of forms a couple of weeks ago, Silicone for 39 English pounds which was about $80 Australian. Up until then I had been using birdseed. The forms are great and well worth the money. I bought mine on a run out sale and they are tear drop 34 DD...beautiful.., look great and have a natural movement to them. Online seemed to be the cheapest way to go and still get a quality product. I have yet to attach them properly and that is a fun little project for later in the week.

Not sure about physical stores, I know our local chain stores occasionally will have breast enhancers for sale but these seem in most cases are nothing more than padding to go in your bra. I will PM you the details of where I bought the forms from if you would like.

Most sizable cities have dealers that sell breast forms. Look in your yellow pages (or the online equiv.) for "breast forms". Call and ask if they work with TG people. There are stores that deal primarily in things for crossdressing and TG people that sell them also. There aren't many around, though, so you may have to travel to visit one. You don't say where you are, but I know in Germany there is shop that sells forms exclusively and has a huge selection you can pick from in their showroom. I'm sorry, but the name slips me.

Most people just take their chances with shopping online when it comes to these things. You want to take careful measurements and try to buy a well recommended product, especially if it's one of the more expensive ones. There are some lower priced forms sold on eBay and Amazon some people here have used and found acceptable. It might be preferable to go that way initially just to test things out for yourself. My first forms were the inexpensive ($20) "cutlet" type sold to give women an extra inch or two. They're smallish, but many ladies are.

Hi an option I used before I had enough of my own to use is to go to a store that caters to women with breast cancer. That is what I did and the forms where excellent quality - expensive though - and worked really well. I was up front with them and they treated me marvelously and just like any other women. If you are looking for extremely low cost solutions then web based or as others have suggested. Sometimes other T-girls have forms that they no longer need and are willing to part with. You might check the local support group or web/ email based group for your area.
