Changing documentation after srs

So I finally.. made room for more stress! So apparently in my state, I need an attorney to get paperwork for amended bc. I've already have my medical letter from doctor. My attorny wants to charge me 300 for this.. as well as 300 for court cost. This does not sound right. Anyone have a loophole or knowledge about this?

It would be helpful if you say the specific locations, since not all jurisdiction have the same rules regarding that procedure.
